On the the north-facing coast on the Moray Coast, Scotland, sits a diverse but beautiful seascape with many different features. These rocks pools are located at Cove Bay near Hopeman.

I name this place my private pool because in winter i’m always alone there. At summertime it’s another story and tourists start to arrive around 7 am. That’s an HDR work done from 4 exposures with soft tone mapping under Photomatix, trying too keep the result natural. Can be seen * here* at a very better size. .

Not my normal style of image, more documentary I suppose, but as a fair amount of my images have been captured from the East beach at Lossiemouth, Moray Scotland , where I stay, I thought that I would load up this overview image of part of that area. This was taken on December 31st. 2008. What looks like snow is in fact frost! I had been on the beach earlier in the day to shoot the dawn light and was so cold that I could hardly make it back across the bridge. Taken on an evening when the sunset was truely spectacular at Kimmeridge Bay. This is a rock pool I always find to be a great subject for foreground interest within a larger composition. Kimmeridge Bay is a World Heritage Site and world famous for the amount of fossils that can be found there.
