A long exposure of the California coast at sunset brings us a riot of pastel hues.

The sun is setting at Pigeon Point Lighthouse in California. This old light on the Northern California coast is now more a tourist stop than anything else, but you can still feel what it must have been like once upon a time when the day was ending and this lighthouse was gearing up for the night ahead warning ships from the rocky coast.

The Point Arena Lighthouse, on the Mendocino coastline of California… from a distance…. There were so many different angles and perspectives I enjoyed about this lighthouse… although it’s off in the distance… I still really liked this view….

Cape Blanco, Oregon National Register of Historical Places #73002339 (1993) The grounds of the lighthouse are closed during the winter with a locked gate. But a nice walk can get you up close and personal with the lighthouse, and you can have the whole bluff to yourself! The view is spectacular from the high bluff, which is surrounded by the big, blue Pacific on three sides. Steep cliffs and towering sea stacks are also prevalent. Whale spouts can often be seen too.
