This is a Thunderbird done in traditional Pacific Northwest Coast Native Style
A rugged coastline of sea stacks, towering cliffs, and pounding surf make the Southern Oregon Coast an incredible wonder of nature. And the mighty Pacific insures an unobstructed western view that is ideal for photographing sensational sunsets like the ones captured and included in this breath-taking collage. The splendor of this work of art will enchant the viewer forever!

Camas is a root flower which was grown by Southern Vancouver Island Coast Salish tribes in a form of agriculture and was the main source of carbohydrates in the traditional diet. Coast Salish families would own cams plots that were burned every year in order to enhance the harvested area. The controlled burning over many years is what created the now endangered Garry oak ecosystem. Now the lack of fire is one of the many reasons why the ecosystem is endangered.
This image represents what a Canadian coin with the queen’s image would look like to a Coast Salish person using traditional Pacific Northwest coast native designs. / The coin is red to represent all the blood that has been spilled from the English monarchy in their world domination conquest of the past. / For the Queen I wanted to draw what the monarchy would represent to Coast Salish people for what they were responsible for the attempted cultural genocide, so I choose to draw her in the form of an evil witch like character that often appear in coast Salish stories. I also added some Christian symbols of evil demons with horns, sharp teeth and long tongue to show symbols of evil from their own Christian religion. I am not stating that this queen is evil but what the monarchy that she represents has been evil in the past to many different aboriginal nations around the world and now the descendants to this monarchy have acquired much wealth and celebrity like status from the blood and deaths of many people. / I have never heard of a reasonable reason as to why Canada would continue to use the monarchy as one of our main symbols. If Canada claims to be a multicultural country then it is time to find a symbol that represents all of us instead of a symbol that shows a dark past and only represents one culture.
Beaver is an important crest and the subject of many legends. One legend tells of the origin of the beaver: A woman with brown hair dammed a small stream to make a pool for swimming. As she swam, her leather apron kept slapping the water. The pool became a lake and, because of scolding words from her husband, she refused to leave it. She became covered with brown fur, her apron turned into a tail, and thus she became the first beaver. Beaver reminds us that we have to act on our dreams to make them a reality.
