  • Couple walking hand in hand on the beach.

  • Nakalele Blowhole truly a miracle of nature. A shelf of lava rock on the north shore of Maui eroded by the punishing sea until the waves created a vent that spews like a geyser off and on and when the llight of late afternoon hits the spray the miracle of rainbow color becomes apparent.

  • This shot was taken outside of Fort Bragg, California.

  • Rock formations at low tide. Taken with my 5D and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens. This is a 82mm lens and I am currently using Cokin Filters (handheld).....uuuuurrgh. I am very keen to get a Lee Neutral Density Filter set. If you have this setup I would be very interested to hear from you what experiences you have made in regards to vignetting and what Lee components you have mounted on your lens. Thanks heaps

  • Happy New Year everyone! This shot was taken at the Sunshine Coast just before Christmas 2007….well it’s an old shot isn’t it. Taken with my Canon 5D and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens. No Filter has been used but I did some fake HDR processing (single shot) using Dynamic Photo HDR. It’s a fun program and a great alternative to Photomatix.

  • Full moon to the left…airport to the right, a nugget in the sea and a sprinkled sky 13 Sec Exposure / Focal Length 16.0 mm / F6.3

  • The SS Dicky was washed ashore onto Dicky Beach in 1893 during a cyclone. It was re-floated, but again, heavy seas turned the ship about and back onto the sand where it remains to this day. / / The suburb and beach was named after the ship. The beach is an unspoilt stretch of sun-drenched sand, on Queensland’s magnificent Sunshine Coast. Taken with my 5D and 16-35mm lens and I was so lucky to have a nature spectacle as the fog rolled in from West creating a mystic ambience I have also written a photographers guide if you are interested in knowing more about this site

This scenic pic is a combination of shots. A composite of four shots. All shots were taken in northern California with my Canon Rebel XT, EOS. My husband loves to feed the birds, and other critters along the coast line. I took shots of him feeding the birds, and I love to take shots of sunsets over the coast. The west coast sunsets are some of the best. I turned it BW and love it best in BW. He loves to stop at sunset for a break so I can shoot, early morning and sunset are my favorite times to shoot.

  • On my first visit to Chile, we were the first passengers to sail the Kaweskar Route of the southern fjords on the Skorpios III. The weather was terrible most of the time (typical Patagonia n springtime) and the day before this, visibility was nil. Imagine our surprise when this day we woke up to this serene and magical sight. I think it is the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen – photos cannot do it justice.

  • Cannon Beach, OR No editing / In-camera B&W Make: Canon / Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi / Shutter Speed: 1/4000 second / F Number: F/3.5 / Focal Length: 18 mm / ISO Speed: 200 / Date Picture Taken: Nov 5, 2007, 11:22:09 AM

  • This berg was as big as a house! We were bobbing around in a little lifeboat so we could be close to these and get some photos. Our main ship, the Skorpios III, although happy to plough through ice flows would not venture closer than 1 kilometre to the glacier face. The glacier in the background is the Pope Pio XI, the largest glacier (I think) in South America. Southern Patagonia, Chile.

  • The luxurious black sand beach of Hamoa / Hana Maui Hawai’i Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / All Rights Reserved

  • The Old Salt Barn on Ka’ono’ulu Ranch is fixin’ to fall down any day now, the owner told me. And so I made this old building my priority. Shooting HDR style, was able to capture the full glory of the UpCountry Maui sunset.

  • Sunrise, Playa Bocana, Huatulco, Mexico Overlooking the Pacific on the west coast of Mexico, but Huatulco faces east! Another dawn, another day, those in Victoria are not forgotton. All profits of this work will be donated to the victims of the Victorian Bush fires.

  • This award winning photo was my own personal choice for the place of honor in our home: above the hearth. The photo was taken on a still, misty morning near Port Orford, Oregon, of a man walking his dog on the boulder strewn beach, with the hazy coastal mountains rising up in the background. It’s hard to imagine that it could get any more peaceful and inspiring than this, isn’t it? (Nikon D200, Nikkor DX 18-70 mm 3.5-4.5 ED Lens, Settings f/13.0, 1/640th, ISO 320, 70 mm)

  • The morning sunrise reveals a large rock on the beach, uncovered by the tides. The rugged coastal range of mountains is silhouetted in the background. Mount Humbug is the large mountain towering along the seashore on the right. Nikon D200 w/ 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 zoom lens @ 18mm. f/4.5, 1/80th, ISO250

  • This video guy and I were the last two taking advantage of the late light of this sunset. It almost always pays to take shots several minutes after the crowd of photographers leave as soon as the sun is down. Taken at Cannon Beach, Oregon with a Canon XT and a 28-135. • The beautiful Oregon Coast; a beautiful place to visit anytime of the year.

  • Life is largely a matter of expectation. Horace (65 BC – 8 BC)

  • One of the many Vista Points off of PCH in California.

  • Taken off the shores of Garibaldi, Oregon just before sunset as heavy fog was beginning to roll in. Taken with Canon 50D DSLR at f22, ISO 200, focal length of 70mm. A tripod was used to blend four exposures at 1/2 ev intervals using Photomatix HDR software.
