Hamilton Island is the largest inhabited island of the Whitsunday Islands, a collection of wet drowned mountains situated close to the east coast of Queensland, Australia. Unlike most islands off the east coast of Australia, Hamilton Island is used almost exclusively for tourism. However the island is catering for a growing number of residents, both employees of the various businesses on the island and also those people choosing to retire and enjoy the lifestyle.

Taken while walking along the cliffside between Lower Island Cove and Caplin Cove, Newfoundland, Canada. These towering pillars of sedimentary layers offer a spectacular view to those who are wary—and a precarious fall to those who aren’t. On the edge of the Southern Highlands of NSW Australia, Mount Cambewarra overlooks the coastal plains of the Shoalhaven region. The town directly below is Nowra, on the Shoalhaven River. All around is rich dairy country and the sides of the mountain are covered in thick coastal rainforest vegetation. Behind it and to the North, lies the Kangaroo Valley, on the list of must-visit places. Due to ongoing bushfires in the Morton National Park to the West, a heavy smoke haze can be seen covering the area. On a clear day, the view is even more spectacular, with many of the coastal beaches and headlands visible. Technostuff: Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200VR lens, hand held 18mm. Normal Program, 1/400 f10, ISO 200, Pattern metering, Auto Exp & WB.

In this unique collection of images the focus has been on the south and west of the region where the landscape careers out of Bass strait with majestic cliffs and beaches up through the the rich grazing hills and rainforests until the beauty of the alpine region along the Baw Baw plateau. / All the images featured in this 2010 calender and arranged respectively of the month they represent.
