This photo was taken from Wild Horse Mountain facing towards Mt Beerwah, one of the Glasshouse Mountains. Beerwah, according to local Aboriginal legend, is the pregnant mother of this family of mountains. If you look at the left-hand side of the mountain you should be able to see the shape of a reclining pregnant woman.

A morbid history of St. John’s… the hill in the background is known as Gibbets Hil, it is where all the criminals were hung in public executions. The body of water at the base of the hill is where the executioner would throw the bodies when they were dead. The pond is known as “Dead Man’s Pond”. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

Lake Mackintosh is a Hydro Tasmania lake near Tullah in Tasmania’s west. Surrounded by mountains and old growth forests, It dams the Mackintosh River and Sophia River, then feeds Mackintosh Power Station, Tasmania through into Lake Rosebery. / The Murchison River (Tasmania) is also fed into this lake through the Murchison Dam, to the south. / Like all Hydro Tasmania lakes, Lake Mackintosh is stocked with plump trout. You can launch your boat at a number of boat ramps on the Lake and spend the day fishing, or enjoy a picnic or barbecue on the shore. / Literally surrounded by lakes, Tullah is a haven for boating and fishing enthusiasts. You can enjoy a number of walks in the area, including the challenging bushwalk to the summit of Mt Farrell which is rewarded with stunning views. Once accessible only by rail, Tullah now has a tourist railway – the restored steam train Wee Georgie Wood – which operates on weekends during the summer months. You can also join a number of guided tours in the area including trout fishing, horse riding and four wheel drive tours. / /

The Old Salt Barn on Ka’ono’ulu Ranch is fixin’ to fall down any day now, the owner told me. And so I made this old building my priority. Shooting HDR style, was able to capture the full glory of the UpCountry Maui sunset.

I took a trip up to Lancelin about a 1.5 hours North of Perth, Famous for it’s large sand dunes, And is a popular destination for offroaders, And a good place to go sand boarding. This shot was taken just before sunset. Taken with my 5DMkII and 24-105 f/4 IS L lens, f/8.0, ISO 100, And Polarising Filter. Gerroa is an idyllic village at the Kiama end of Seven Mile Beach on the south coast of New South Wales … their sunset on Tuesday (6 January 08) was aided by smoke haze from bushfires in the Morton National Forest. After a day in which temperatures reached 40 degrees celsius and beyond, it was a pleasure to have the surf lapping my ankles as the sun slipped behind the mountains. After visiting the beautiful Cambewarra Lookout in the Morton National Park south of Sydney, you can meander down the mountain towards Nowra and this is the type of panoramic scenery you will find … Smoke haze is evident here from the bushfires further into the Morton National Park at the time. A clearing storm just before sunset on the Napali Coast, captured from Kalalau Lookout in Kokee State Forest on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. For me, the incredible light and views that can be seen at different times of the day from this vantage point are second to none in all of Hawaii. The only thing you need to do is be patient when you arrive, as this area is frequently fogged in and rainy. As an example, I waited almost 2 hours before the sky broke and I was able to capture this shot. For me it was worth the wait !
