Fell in deep like with Jake the Clydesdale on a visit to a working farm. He got bored after the carrots ran dry and wandered off in disgust. So, here he is, set free on a beach & processed with love. A tribute to all the pretty horses and the peace they breathe into our battered souls.
Digital oil painting from three of my photos – landscape, sky and horse. I shot the original photo at Jondaryan Woolshed, west of where I live. The event was Heavy Horse Day. Makes my day just to wander around with my camera and look at these beautiful intelligent creatures. Thanks for looking :-)
An original pastel painting. Original artwork size- 45cm x 67cm. 2007 It seems the larger the animal, the more docile and appealing they are. What would the world be without these magnificent creatures…...great and small! / These two are probably old enough to start training as a team in harness. / Original for sale. Not anymore, the original sold at an exhibition :)
Another capture of the Beautiful Clydesdale!
The Clydesdales cropped. I posted the question re copyright issues- It was suggested to crop part of the budweizer logo that was on the truck! / I thank everyone for their kind imput and suggestions!!! Hopefully this will keep me out of jail!!!!!!
CUB Clydesdale team on their visit to Smith St, Warragul in 2008.
Took this photo just after the rosette had been pinned on.
My big poser looks totally camera shy in this shot! / /
The Carlton Draught Clydesdale horses taking part in the ‘street parade’ during the 2008 Pako Festa in Geelong.

Magnificent animals, Clydesdales…
The Clydesdale is a breed of draft horse derived from the very hard-working farm horses of Clydesdale, Scotland, and named for that region. Thought to be over 300 years old, the breed was extensively used for pulling heavy loads in rural, industrial and urban settings, their common use extending into the 1960s when they were a still a familiar sight pulling the carts of milk and vegetable vendors. / They have been exported in the Commonwealth and United States where they are famous for their use as the mascot of various beer brands, including company Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser brand, Carlton & United Beverages and several others. / At one time there were at least 140,000 Clydesdales known in Scotland; by 1949 just 80 animals were licensed in England and by 1975 the Rare Breed Survival Trust had listed the breed as “vulnerable”. Clydesdales have since seen resurgence in popularity and population, resulting in the breed’s status being reclassified favorably as “at risk” with an estimated global population of just 5,000 individuals. / Today, the Clydesdale’s most significant presence is in exhibition and parade. / /
Yes, I think I do have a thing for Clydesdales. This one just seemed so content in the late afternoon sun. / Pastel pencil on pastel paper. Size approx A4. 2006. Sold.
Another Tshirt concept I had to see if it would work out : ) Let me know what you think!
The Clydesdale is a magnificent horse, recognized for its strength, style, and versatility. One of the heavy draft breeds, the Clydesdale originated in Scotland in the eighteenth century. This one is a much loved resident at Newparks Farm in Muiravonside Country Park, near Linlithgow, Scotland. Newparks Farm, which has a variety of domestic stock consisting of rare breeds and exotic animals and birds, is open to the public all year round, a wonderful place to bring children! Another view of this lovely horse can be viewed at Clydesdale or click here to view all my Lowland Scotland shots. Best viewed Larger.
Bundy the Clydesdale
One of the many images I have of the beautiful working horses of Gippsland.
Taken at the working horse exhibition on Churchill Island. It was mid day so the light was not too great. Think this works OK in B/W. The focus was on the driver.
