So there I am, in my work clothes, trudging through a marsh to get to these little clumps of flowers that are only growing in the soppy, disgusting wetland of a nearby creek bed. One step was particularly mucky. But they’re sweet little swamp-dwellers, aren’t they? LavenderMoon~

I recently started finding these on a creek bed I hike often. With the recent heavy rainfall we got (no mushrooms..grrr) the water came thru this area and started pushing/rolling the rocks and debree. / I believe these clumps here are mostly clay and lime/sand stone pieces. They were very heavy, hard to break, and drove my son NUTS trying TO break them (which he couldn’t). / The largest here is about half the size of a bowling ball.

This wild plant is Jack-in-the-Pulpit when it turns to berries. The latin name is Arisaena triphyllum or also known as Indian turninp. /
