Airdrieonians Football Club, more commonly known as ‘Airdrie’ were a Scottish professional football team from the town of Airdrie, in the Monklands area of Lanarkshire. The club became defunct at the end of the Scottish Football League 2001/02 season, despite the team finishing as runners-up in the SFL First Division to Partick Thistle and therefore only narrowly missing out on promotion to the Scottish Premier League. During their one hundred and twenty four year existence the “Diamonds”, as they were nicknamed, won the old Scottish Division Two three times, the Spring Cup once and the Scottish Challenge Cup on three occasions. The club also competed in four separate Scottish Cup finals; winning the competition in 1924. The Airdrieonians logo is public domain as the company is no longer in existence.

Having been a science fiction buff for many years, there are some books that touched my soul. “I, Robot” by Isaac Asimov, “Faraheit 451” by Ray Bradbury are just a couple of the books that left indelible marks and images. With movies and television, how about “The Next Generation” with Data. I thought, what if the robots created their own social structure in a fashion? Would they have clubs for socializing or just getting their lube jobs? Or maybe get a shocker as their drugs? Do robots dream? Do they want to be human? Do they really feel? Would they hook up to the information networks for more news and upgrades? From all this wondering, came The Bot Club. Deadmau5 (pronounced “Deadmouse”; real name Joel Zimmerman) is a progressive house and electro house producer from Toronto, Canada. ‘Deadmau5’, Zimmermans’ DJ name, comes from an incident where a mouse crawled into his computer and died. ‘Dead Mouse’ was too long for an IRC login name, so he abbreviated it to be the “leet speak” spelling “Deadmau5”.
