Beautiful image of the Whalehead Hunt Club in Currituck, North Carolina. Currituck lighthouse on the left, active Osprey’s nest on far left chimney. Ian Rilen was a legendary Sydney rock and roller and a member of bands such as Rose Tattoo, X and Sardine V. He died earlier this year and is much missed for his wild and wonderful ways. I found this candid back stage shot of him and his then wife Stephanie preparing to go onstage at the Trade Union Club in Sydney’s Surry Hills way way back in the early 80’s. They were in Sardine V at that time and when I look at this shot now the eighties rush back. Oh my misspent youth. :) So Vale Ian Rilen, I so hope things are rocking were ever you are. This shot is for you.

Whatever works, I guess… / / / This is an experimental piece. I wrote it as part stream-of consciousness and part internal journal, sort of. Let me know what you think of it. Nightlife man…off to the nightclubs…7 days a week! A.R.S.E. Speed Tee challenge. I really wanted to put a galaxy on his suit…but it didn’t happen.

This was another shot from the other day at Sunset. I really wanted to bring out the amazing colors of the sunset and shooting directly at the sun was hard to get a good exposure especially with the standard canon kit lens I was getting a fair bit of lens flare (Cant wait till I my Sigma 10 -20 mm lens). So I bracketed 3 different exposures all 2 stops apart. I used a cokin ND grad filter to try to keep some of the color in the fore ground. / I really liked the contrasting colors in this shot and the tree made a nice Silhouette I then used Photomatrix pro to convert the 3 images into a HDR . Final curves and sat were done in PhotoShop.

Airdrieonians Football Club, more commonly known as ‘Airdrie’ were a Scottish professional football team from the town of Airdrie, in the Monklands area of Lanarkshire. The club became defunct at the end of the Scottish Football League 2001/02 season, despite the team finishing as runners-up in the SFL First Division to Partick Thistle and therefore only narrowly missing out on promotion to the Scottish Premier League. During their one hundred and twenty four year existence the “Diamonds”, as they were nicknamed, won the old Scottish Division Two three times, the Spring Cup once and the Scottish Challenge Cup on three occasions. The club also competed in four separate Scottish Cup finals; winning the competition in 1924. The Airdrieonians logo is public domain as the company is no longer in existence.
