During Spring for a few weeks you get this really intense green weed hitting the Sydney coast line…. I loved the contrast and textures of the green weed against the blur of a long exposure (30sec +) of the ocean and a nice dramatic sky.

Carved By Nature’s Wrath / The 12 Apostles, Victoria Following a day of torrential rain and gale force winds, the sun shone momentarily, lighting up the moody sky, before plunging the rugged coastline into complete darkness. As night falls, a solitary waterfall is all that remains of the passing storms, returning the much needed rain to the swollen seas of the shipwreck coast. They are lonely because in death, disease and not being able to travel to friends and relatives. Thought I’d play around with a slightly more surreal shot. The red light is from an overhead sodium light that casts a funky orange/red light on the pool. Great storm clouds brewing in the East around sunrise. Mona Vale pool is one of my favorites around Sydney. Enjoy.

Romance depicting heroic or marvelous deeds, pageantry, romantic exploits etc Eilean Donan castle bathing in the early afternoon light _As one of the most iconic images of Scotland, Eilean Donan is recognised all around the world. Situated on an island at the point where three great sea lochs meet, and surrounded by some majestic scenery, it is little wonder that the castle is now one of the most important attractions in the Scottish highlands. Although first inhabited around the 6th century, the first fortified castle was built in the mid 13th century and stood guard over the lands of Kintail. Since then, at least four different versions of the castle have been built and re-built as the feudal history of Scotland unfolded through the centuries. Partially destroyed in a Jacobite uprising in 1719, Eilean Donan lay in ruins for the best part of 200 years until Lieutenant Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap bought the island in 1911 and proceeded to restore the castle to its former glory. After 20 years of toil and labour the castle was re-opened in 1932_ / http://www.eileandonancastle.com/

This shot was taken on an overcast and rainy day at Flynn’s Beach in Port Macquarie.. I had to take a shot as the colour of the water was a very nice blue-green.. I was also happy with the way I captured the wave crashing on the rocks offshore.

Worth going to Larger for this one – heaps more stars. Storm off Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park. This shot has all my favourite elements in one image – the moon, stars, lightning, storm clouds, and ocean. What a treat this night was – getting some fantastic storms here. This is about the sixth I’ve photographed. There are two lightning cells here – the white one under the moon and the orange one off to the right of the main cloudbank. This is one shot in a continuous sequence of 100 I shot to create a startrails version. Unfortunately my computer is choking on processing that many 50mb files at once so may be delayed in posting the startrails version. Part of the Raging Stillness series this is a blend of 10 X 30 second exposures taken as part of a series of 110 sequential images during a particularly lovely night storm we had a little while ago. You’re looking at 5minutes of the storm at its height.
