  • “When you have come to the edge of all light that you know and are about to drop off into darkness of the unknown. Faith is knowing one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.” Patrick Overton.

  • A Bald eagle silhouette against the moon.

  • These birds are magnificent on their own, but if your lucky enough to get a breath taking back ground, all the better!

  • More eagle fun!

  • It take a bald eagle five years to reach full maturity, this one is almost there.

  • Thank you for viewing and comments always welcome. Vonne

  • The once mighty Murray River, here seen above Renmark, South Australia, with the morning lighting up its dwindling curves.

  • Just something fun I did Playing around in Photo shop! / I had a image of a girl diving and scanned it into photoshop and created a new blank image and pasted it in. Instead of having her vertical I rotated her horizontal, I used the clone tool to paint her bathing suite off, and used the paintbrush to fill in the background with color and clouds, then used a few filters like Gaussian blur on background several times. I drew in the wings and then added effects like emboss to give detail. then just did some color correction and added warm high lights to make it feel as if the sun was above and behind her! I think it came out with a high atmospheric feel! She could just free fall for 5 minutes or so before having to flap her wings

  • I’d like to be able to say that when I was composing this shot I saw the plane taking off out of frame and worked out its trajectory would take it just over th e sun as it was rising, but I can’t :-(. Truth is I was so focussed on the rising sun I didn’t even notice the plane til I downloaded the shot and started working on it. So this is actually a tiny crop of the original landscape orientation I shot it in. One of those serendipitous moments you don’t even notice at the time. Taken from Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park just a few moments after Streaming to the Dawn. Another stumble upon going through the archives. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/15sec / Av: f/11 / ISO: 100

  • I think every Australian knows of Port Arthur, for dark events that happened here, both in the recent past, and early days of Australia. A correctional facility for the re-offending criminals from Britain and Ireland, this was more than just a jail. It was about changing these men to rejoin society. It was used from 1833 until the 1877 when it was closed down. This was the main church, and it was one of Australia’s first non-denominational churches. Built using convict labour, in the gothic style. The bird in the shot is a crow. I did try to get one of the many rosellas in the area in the shot, but no luck there. Canon 50D, 10mm.
