During Spring for a few weeks you get this really intense green weed hitting the Sydney coast line…. I loved the contrast and textures of the green weed against the blur of a long exposure (30sec +) of the ocean and a nice dramatic sky.

Well this is the shot that made it into the 2008 channel ten weather calendar, so I’m pretty proud of that.Getting this into the calendar was my first… ‘public’ recognition of my work so this is a pretty special shot to me. it is lightning over Adelaide looking down from Mount Osmond. It was taken in December 2006 and featured on the following nights news broadcast.

Taken at the Waterrun, Royal National Park just south of Sydney. The rainbow is from some wave spray and that’s a little waterfall off to the left. / This shot was taken at dusk about an hour before Poetry of Chaos. It was amazing watching the storm come in and the colours changing and the sea swell growing. One of the great privileges of living in this park is watching the same landscapes in a myriad of different moods depending on the weather and time of day. Dramatic Scottish sunset over Sand Dunes near Arisaig, Western Scotland. Some may know this beach from the film ‘Local Hero’ This Photograph won Editors Choice as well as Photo of the week on the website ePHOTOzine.com : “Every month editor Pete will explain why he has chosen a particular Photo of the Week. Her more recent work has been landscapes and this one, taken with a Sigma 10-20mm, really caught my eye as well as many of the members. Sunsets are always popular, but this takes the glorious ‘ah-factor’ colours of a sunset and adds an incredible ‘wow’ topping of drama. There’s not really anything to lead you around the shot or vie for your attention, just a complete canvas of painterly light with the contrast of the dark monotone snow and the depth and incredibly colourful cloud formations. I bet it looks wonderful printed.”

1015 views as of Dec 8, 2009 / / I was down at Okanagan beach this afternoon taking some photographs when I noticed the reflection of some tree tops with the light shining through them in this puddle. Thought it looked almost like the leaves in the puddle were falling onto the trees…..seemed kind of magical to me :)
