Onwards West Outside of Ken Caryl Ranch, Colorado / HDR processed along with the use of LucisArts / Thoughts welcomed!
Colorado is certainly known for it’s parks, and this one I happened upon out of the blue one day….it really is a majestic site, with these odd rock formations just jetting straight up from the earth, as if reaching for the sky. I was also lucky enough to capture the distant clouds as they were building for afternoon thunderstorms, later that day….spose you can say I like the sense of drama that they add to the image overall. / HDR processed, thoughts most welcomed! —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. Most people don’t die until the last moment; others start twenty years in advance, sometimes more. Those are the unfortunates. Louis Ferdinand Céline (1894-1961)
Bodie Ghost Town in the Seirra Nevada Mountains in Eastern California. This 1800’s Gold town once had a thriving population of 10,000 people. It was a true wild western town with gun fights, saloons and a huge redlight district.
This is for Mike, one of the weather guys on the Cocos Islands. Everyday we would ask him what the forecast was, and everyday he would reply “Mostly fine, chance of a shower”! I guess this was the “chance of a shower” bit! Mike is a great guy with lots of wonderful stories from his time spent living all around Australia. A Sunrise Over Golden Captured overlooking Golden, Colorado from Lookout Mountain / I went ahead and set the scene up and was thinking “Oh ya, maybe I should try using my filters!” and wallah, this is the outcome! It was a cold morning to say the least, and once again my damn tripod was like a flagpole one licks when it is below freezing lol You have to love the feel of cold, icy steel on bare skin! It is so much fun! NOT! lol But I think it was pretty much worth it. This shot was taken before the sun came up.. I went to check out the sunrise, but a storm had blown in and there was very little colour other than blue on the eastern facing coast.. so I headed over to the west coast and took some photos at Sugar Loaf Rock.. I’m very happy I did as I just love this shot! These were the actual colours captured by the camera, I haven’t photoshoped the colours at all, I’ve just adjusted the white balance down somewhat in order to exaggerate the blue that was already there.. love this shot! 3 minute exposure @ f10, ISO100 / ND400 + ND8 + ND4Grad All comments appreciated Paul Pichugin / http://www.paulmp.com.au
