  • A Woman with outstretched arms seems to hold the sun between her two hands. It is late in the evening and there is an orange glow everywhere

  • the easy silence you make for me

  • For the joy of life – dancing by the light of the setting sun.

  • “The sea is dangerous and its storms terrible, but these obstacles have never been sufficient reason to remain ashore… Unlike the mediocre, intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible… It is with an iron will that they embark on the most daring of all endeavors… to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown.” / —ANON See Detail:

Based on a story I wrote a few years ago about a mermaid being the guardian of dawn. / / Foliage brushes created by me from photos I’ve taken.

  • My daughter and her dog… /

  • Storm clouds rolling in over the hills at sunset in Arizona. / Shot with Canon 20D.

  • The glory and the splendor of ‘the start of the day’ at Jan Juc beach on the Surfcoast, part of The Great Ocean Road. Camera: Pentax istDS.

  • Another image from the late night shoot near Mannum South Australia. Just love the River Murray and the starkness of the willow trees lining the banks in this spot create wonderful silhouettes at last light. Thanks to Dave and River Rat from Mannum (mannum Motel) for their support in joining me on these repeat visits to this magical little strip of the river. Canon 400D, CIR polarising filter. 18-55 lens.

  • And remember, no matter where you go, there you are. Confucius (551 BC – 479 BC)

  • Another in the Mangrove Sapling series, this one Lake Weyba again, with 2 tall saplings. Unaltered photograph, except for light noise removal :) Canon 50D, 18mm. Available Large, and best viewed LARGE.

  • Took this shot last year on Mt Donna Buang in the rain. The rain made photography very difficult but the mist was so atmospheric I thought I’d have a go anyway. Pointing a camera almost straight up in the rain with a wide angle lens and an umbrella is a delicate balancing act. It involved lots of lens wiping, hoping and a few screw ups (drips and umbrella in frame didn’t quite give the shot the right vibe). Of all my shots this ended up being my only drip free and umbrellaless one. To check out other shots from this area see my Yarra Ranges gallery. 10% of all profits go to the Wilderness Society

  • Before the dawn, Noora Evaporation basin near Renmark South Australia. Just before the sun with a brooding blue stormy cloud line silhouetting the majestic old dead river redgum trees that line the basin. As most of you know this is one of my favorite spots to sit and watch the sun come up! Canon 400D – 18-55 lens with CIR Polariser topped with ND4.

  • Early morning just as the sun starts to rise – Lyrup backwaters near the Noora evaporation basin in the Riverland of South Australia. This is a backwater lined with majestic old river red gums but is not indicative of the main river. Still plenty to do and see on the river itself and well worth a trip. Canon 400D 18 – 55 with Polarising filter. Three shot panoramic stitched in Photoshop CS3.

  • Photo composite. Original images taken with Motorazr V9 mobile phone camera. Edited in Photoshop CS4. May include brushes from deviantart, brusheezy, brushking, obsidiandawn, blendfu and noupe.

  • Dog Rocks, near Geelong. Taken with my Nikon D60 (18-55mm lens)

  • / Okanagan Lake, Penticton BC Canada…..November 2009

  • The day before Christmas, the energy on the beach was fitting a grand squall.. but the skies cooperated for the moment. Cold, breezy and with the very darkest of skies found a lone person briskly walking the waters edge. There were three surfers in the water at this same time… brave souls!!! / Long Sands is one of the most popular beaches in the York, Maine area and one that I visit many many times a year. / . / Silhouette on the Beach / Where am I going on this bright cold day / I’ll never tell, no I won’t say. / It may be from here to there or / somewhere about this place. / It may be to heaven that someday I’ll grace. / Oh where are you going / this you ask of me. / I’m going to venture out to the sea. / I have a song to write / a painting as well / a photo to capture / before the winds push pell- mell. / How long am I staying / you ask the silhouette on the beach. / I’ll answer this one / for it’s just out of reach / for me to call / for me to send / for me to claim a source / I’m off to the sea to dance / and you respond, “Of course!” / Jazzy ‘09 !

  • I’m too tired tonight for stock credits. Will add tomorrow :)
