  • This was taken at Dickey beach in QLD. The rusted remains of an old ship reminded me of dinasour bones rising out of the sand.

  • The last remains of the old Port Willunga jetty, South Australia. Port Willunga Beach was recently named as the only Australian location in ‘Travel and Leisure’ magazine – hip travel list of emerging destinations. This is still one of my favourite locations to photograph and is only a 40 minute drive south of Adelaide. Pentax *ist DS – DSLR. Also available:

  • Here are my boys and hubby checking out the clouds before a storm.

  • Transcendent by Shane Smart. Port Willunga, South Australia. Pentax *ist DS. / HDR: / 3 Exposures (-2,0,+2) / Combined in Photomatix and finished in CS2. Also available:

  • Dramatic Scottish sunset over Sand Dunes near Arisaig, Western Scotland. Some may know this beach from the film ‘Local Hero’ This Photograph won Editors Choice as well as Photo of the week on the website ePHOTOzine.com : “Every month editor Pete will explain why he has chosen a particular Photo of the Week. This month: Arisaig Sunset by arwengrace. Photo Of The Week Comment from Pete Barr Angela Barnett (arwengrace) usually grabs my attention with fascinating magical-style montages. Her more recent work has been landscapes and this one, taken with a Sigma 10-20mm, really caught my eye as well as many of the members. It has exceeded 200 votes of confidence. / So what’s so special? Well for me it’s the amazing depth of colour and atmosphere. Sunsets are always popular, but this takes the glorious ‘ah-factor’ colours of a sunset and adds an incredible ‘wow’ topping of drama. There’s not really anything to lead you around the shot or vie for your attention, just a complete canvas of painterly light with the contrast of the dark monotone snow and the depth and incredibly colourful cloud formations. I bet it looks wonderful printed.”

  • This is Watergate Bay, on the north coast of Cornwall, looking toward Newquay. / Stayed at the hotel there for a Murder Mystery Weekend. And what a weekend it was. / A little hdr treatment in this. / Hope you like it. Thanks for looking.

  • Unfortunately the skies here in the desert are mostly hazy and full of sand and dust! There are not too many days when there are clear horizons with clouds, and to be able to catch a sunrise like this was just excellent! Located in Libya towards the Algerian border. / /
