Taken in Outback Australia in the Jackson Oilfields.
Another shot i was lucky enough to capture before the rain hit. Taken in outback Australia, South West Queensland.
Rock formations at low tide. Taken with my 5D and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens. This is a 82mm lens and I am currently using Cokin Filters (handheld).....uuuuurrgh. I am very keen to get a Lee Neutral Density Filter set. If you have this setup I would be very interested to hear from you what experiences you have made in regards to vignetting and what Lee components you have mounted on your lens. Thanks heaps
“A Touch of Paradise” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Sunrise in tropical Mission Beach, far north Queensland, Australia. “Flamingos walk, and sway in peace / Seeing this, it makes my troubles cease / The sun is hiding, leaving a pink scar / That stretches right across the sky / Thats all weve seen so far / And all I do is look into your eyes / For that special touch of paradise / Just a touch, a touch of paradise / Just a special touch of paradise / You hold my hand, thats when we kiss / And it doesnt take long no, until I get the gist / Of this love that stretches out across the land / Where rainbows flash, as were walking in the sand / And all I do is look into your eyes / A touch of spring, and autumn sweet / Well the trees vibrate when our eyes meet / And I think of all the love that we have been making / You touch my hand and I walk off shaking / And all I do is look into your eyes.” / ~Ross Wilson and G Smith

This is a panorama from Mount Coot-tha taken on Easter Sunday, 2008.
This sunset photo was taken on the 8th July. I could not believe the colours this day, absolutely breathtaking, needless to say I kept snapping away until the colours disappeared! We have some really awesome sunsets this winter with all the rain that we have had and lots of clouds about. This was taken looking over the Coomera River in the Gold Coast Hinterland. About The last sunrise of 2008! Taken at Burleigh Heads, Queensland. This was the first time for me there and Lance. It’s a sweet spot and looks fantastic for Sunset also. Climbing down to the the rocks is a little tricky though, rather slippery but no match for my Keen’s! I was sitting on a rock when I took this. The interesting thing is the surfers – they just jump across the rocks in bare feet! There was a large group of them later in the surf with an purple flare – I assume to signal the end of 2008! - ISO 100, f11, 21 sec, 10mm / - Sigma 10-20mm Lens / - Tripod with sand in the joints Processing - HDR using Photomatix (2, 0, 2) / Unsharp mask / - Soft Light Layer / - Dodging and burning to bring out the rocks a bit more / - Noise Ninja in Photoshop to remove excess noise / - Horizon straighten and resulting crop

Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland Australia. Quite liked the vapour trail from a airliner in this shot. Bird is a Little Pied Cormorant, flying just ablove the waterline. Canon 50D, 22mm. Available Large, and best viewed Large!
Oakey, Queensland…... hot, dry, rarely rains…... [Thanks to Skeletal mess for your fantastic texture] TOP TEN FINISH – Textured Trees – October 2009
In memory of Ian, a classmate in Mel’s class at BIA.
I was excited again this afternoon as the storms approached from the west. My brother and I raced to the lookout over Sunshine Beach in the Noosa National Park. As fast as they formed, they dissipated, leaving what was to be a beautiful sky in the sunset. I took the time to get to the hidden beach again as the now weak storm cell passed overhead. WOW I was in nature heaven, and I’m so happy I made the effort this afternoon to get to this spot. It’s so wild, untamed and serene. It wasn’t long before the usual eagles soared overhead. You don’t get many other birds here for some reason. Noosa Hidden Beach (not official name, un-named beach), Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 2x stitched horizontal 16mm shots. 180 degrees field of view. Actual print size is over 3 metres high :) Best viewed Large of course.
The Glasshouse Mountains, about 70 kilometres north of Brisbane in Queensland. Volcanic plugs dot the landscape, the cores of extinct volcanoes that formed 27 million to 26 million years ago. The outer pyroclastic exteriors long worn away. Captain James Cook on his voyage in 1770 gave them this name, because it reminded him of huge glass furnaces (glasshouses) back in his native Yorkshire, UK. You can just see the Bruce Hwy in the bottom left of the shot. Huge Pine plantations cover most of the bottom of shot, and stormy skies the top. Taken 5pm, 29th November 2009. Glasshouse Mountains, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 2 x Stitched 35mm shots, displaying about 150 degrees view. Actual print size about 3 metres long. Best viewed Large!
Exploring the Noosa National Park along it’s coastline, is just full of hidden treasures. Eye candy, especially in the falling light of sunset.. This shot taken the same day as Noosa’s Serenity where a depleted storm cell was passing overhead. My Brother is not much of a nature buff, who admited it was spectacular sight, and glad he came with me. He is on the point, to the far right of the photo. Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 16mm, 16:9 crop. Available very large, and best viewed Large!
