The last remaining wisp of the sun’s yellow light paints the far western sky. A red-and purple cloudscape with a window of blue sky is reflected in Lighthouse Pond, in the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, on Florida’s eastern panhandle guf coast. Captured high above Cherry Creek Reservoir outside of Denver Colorado, cosidering how cold it was, the warmth of the colors from the sunrise kept me a little on the warm side! The Marina lies empty below, awaiting Spring to return, which isn’t to far off I suppose. Anyways, I kinda lucked out on this shot considering I was standing on a 2 lane road with no pull off’s….thank goodness for no traffic! / —-John

Gorgeous blue sky with just a few fluffy clouds reflected in mirror-like water of hundreds of ponds and lakes surrounded by lush greenery. Wild, serene and so beautiful.

Stopped by the bird santuary today and had great luck with the clouds in the sky just before the big darks ones filled with rain came in. The lighting was pretty good and I just love the look of the water in this one the wind came up causing all the ripples. / This bird sanctuary in the small town of Okotoks, Alberta Canada just 15 minutes outside the large city of Calgary i really don’t know that it has a name it is a natural body of water not man made.
