I don’t usually do IR shots with people or animals, but this horse was kind enough to stay still for me for 2 seconds. ......................................................................................................... Bored in a stable with nothing to do. / We make a game of throwing our shoes. / Lead me to water, but not to the track. / Show me a saddle and I’ll say, “Hey get off my back.” / All in favor (all in favor) say “Nay!” / We like the flavor of (we like the flavor of) hay. / We’re gonna graze all of our days. / Until they take us away and turn us into glue. / Like Mr. Ed always said… May the horse be with you. May the horse be with you. / May the Horse be with you everyday. / I trot by the fillies (they like me of course). / They all dig my band (yea I’m a rocking horse). / You gotta take off your spurs to ride me you know. / If you want me to stop then yell out “Whoa”. / All in favor (all in favor) say “Nay!” / We like the flavor of (we like the flavor of) ha / .............................. This is four photos that I chose to layer to get a similar effect as “nature under water” and “the nature of things” although I used live nature and threw it on printed images for the others. The amazing gifts of the earth that we live with and we survive because of…......we are all connected. A song called Dancing / by Elisa Toffoli
Oil on canvas. Size 37” x 37”. In the group “Oil Painting” this painting won 1st place / in the challenge “FLOWERS”.
Saganasghee Slough in the forest preserves south of Chicago. This side of the slough has blessed me several times with nice vistas in the morning.
The design came from this original print… /
Bewitched She picks boughs of magnolia from the tree in her garden and brings them to me in her fist as though she’s bringing me blooms of her heart to plant as my own. She takes a day off work, treats herself to a drive in the country and leaves 50’s starlet fiction and bites of toffee treacle honey sugar on my doorstep before ringing the bell and skipping away. She reads the language of my face. She paints the clouds with a thousand different reminders, then captures them in a butterfly net and pins them to my wall. She’s the ink and words from a Golden Book come to life. She plays the Mad Hatter so I can play Alice. She knows about the hidden debris, the mess, the harrowed whispers you don’t ever say out loud. And she loves me anyway. copyright © 2008, Holly Ringland.
Today a friend very kindly brought me this gorgeous tree peony blossom from her garden…it’s approximately 10” across. Canon G9
A digital photo-manipulation of a photograph I took at the Kooragang Wetland Centre on Sunday. The images were captured using a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500 and the processing was completed using Photoshop Elements 7. Their Communications / Publicity Officer, Sue, had sadly passed away about a year ago and they held a commemoration service to celebrate her life and her fantastic attitude to both people and the environment. It was a very nice, sunny day and everyone in attendance paid their respects to a wonderful person who will be missed. / Featured in – That One Great Shot group on Saturday 15/8/2009 Thanks to Jane and Allan for choosing my image to be featured ! :-)
against the sky you do not see my pain / pricks of moments that everyone has agreed / should follow me to forever. / But I am looking to the sky now for answers / and I have been told by the cumulus clouds / I have more than my moments past to consider / I have this most powerful NOW I can choose to embrace / I feel my NOW as perfect cause I started to talk about the sky and it’s beauty / It feels like my past has became whole / My future looks bright / like the sky that I listen to. Linaji 2009 PS. I did nothing to this photo..not even a hue change.. I wish I remembered the settings..xxx
