“A Touch of Paradise” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Sunrise in tropical Mission Beach, far north Queensland, Australia. “Flamingos walk, and sway in peace / Seeing this, it makes my troubles cease / The sun is hiding, leaving a pink scar / That stretches right across the sky / Thats all weve seen so far / And all I do is look into your eyes / For that special touch of paradise / Just a touch, a touch of paradise / Just a special touch of paradise / You hold my hand, thats when we kiss / And it doesnt take long no, until I get the gist / Of this love that stretches out across the land / Where rainbows flash, as were walking in the sand / And all I do is look into your eyes / A touch of spring, and autumn sweet / Well the trees vibrate when our eyes meet / And I think of all the love that we have been making / You touch my hand and I walk off shaking / And all I do is look into your eyes.” / ~Ross Wilson and G Smith

I was having lunch with my beautiful wife the other day at a rather unusual place, right across the road from my office. Never been there before… it was at the Northern Metropolitan Institute of Tafe and they have the special room on the third floor where trainee chefs get to practice their cooking skills and serve to the unsuspecting public. This was the view virtually from the table I was sitting at… the view was way better than the food!
Took this through Palm Leaf. I wasn’t sure about the outcome but I really like the look. Taken in St. Lucia, another beautiful sunset. FEATURED IN THE FOLLOWING GROUPS: / “OUTSIDERS” NIKON D-80 / LENS – VR 5-200MM As Is

My kind of desert storm. Saw this cloud as we dropped into Palm Desert and took three photos and then merged them. This happened while on the way to our Thanksgiving dinner in Palm Springs.
Photographed on Maui, Hawaii / Canon XT, f/6.3, 1/2000 sec, ISO-200.

Sales of this design so far – 1 sale / / / Summer Heat is a mixed media production on Canson Me-Teintes textured pastel/mixed media paper…. being December in Australia we are experiencing some very warm weather, today the beach was at it’s most gorgeous, this painting is inspired by the sultry salty warm days by the beach we love at this time of year, and the beautiful hues of the water when it’s still like a milk pond as it was this morning :) In the background is an icecream van set up by the beach, which has caught the little one’s eye and she’s waving to the vendor. I’ve used pastels and charcoal, both white and black varieties, as well as pencil and black Faber Castelle markers The original work is available unframed for $220, but it is not so bright and in softer hues… this piece has been enhanced a bit in photoshop
Late evening sunset near Cowell on the Eyre Peninsula – South Australia. The highest thing on the road side where a small bunch of thistle heads that looked liked small palm trees sitting up into the sky. Canon 400D, 18-55 with CIR Polarising filter.

Another one of the shots from the day at Port Melbourne beach. This depicts the scene I would picture in my head whenever I was in a place I didn’t want to be. More often than not, school. More specifically, maths class. I wasn’t built for a classroom, being force fed instructions and problematic things that needed solving. It was always about the freedom of creation to me. So I would sit in class and think about anywhere other than where I was. It’s such a vivid memory, despite being 15 years ago. Featured in JPG Cast Offs Crop of original shot, level tweaking to adjust tone. No other processing on this one. See here for instructions on how to create this image. I was excited again this afternoon as the storms approached from the west. My brother and I raced to the lookout over Sunshine Beach in the Noosa National Park. As fast as they formed, they dissipated, leaving what was to be a beautiful sky in the sunset. I took the time to get to the hidden beach again as the now weak storm cell passed overhead. WOW I was in nature heaven, and I’m so happy I made the effort this afternoon to get to this spot. It’s so wild, untamed and serene. It wasn’t long before the usual eagles soared overhead. You don’t get many other birds here for some reason. Noosa Hidden Beach (not official name, un-named beach), Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 2x stitched horizontal 16mm shots. 180 degrees field of view. Actual print size is over 3 metres high :) Best viewed Large of course.
Exploring the Noosa National Park along it’s coastline, is just full of hidden treasures. Eye candy, especially in the falling light of sunset.. This shot taken the same day as Noosa’s Serenity where a depleted storm cell was passing overhead. My Brother is not much of a nature buff, who admited it was spectacular sight, and glad he came with me. He is on the point, to the far right of the photo. Noosa National Park, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 16mm, 16:9 crop. Available very large, and best viewed Large!
