At Day’s End As the sun goes down over the front range mountains of Denver, Colorado, the Sunflowers turn, in anticipation of the sun coming back up in the morning. Photographed in a field where all you can see for miles and miles is Sunflowers….billions of Sunflowers. An entire sea of yellow and gold….caught in my lens for a fleeting instant, where the whole world was at peace…. Minolta 5D / Minolta 50mm f1.7 Lens / Singh-Ray CPL / Dynatran 858 Tripod / HDR through Photomatix, final output through Photoshop

On a frosty june morning I found myself to the top of a local range near Geranium in the Souther Mallee looking at one of the most brilliant sunrise’s I have ever seen. The warm glow of the sun across the clouds and the shifting light made me forget about the the freezing temperatures I was working in.

I love my morning walks a lot, especially at dawn.

After shooting the early light of the morning down at Cape Schanck I thought I’d take a quick shot of the sun light reflecting off the large boulders in this little cove. I love the warm colours and shapes of wet boulders in the sun. If you ever go down to this place when the tied is high and the weather a little on the wild side, the massive waves that come crashing in to this little space throw these boulders around making an awesome rumbling sound. A must see if you live close enough to the Mornington Peninsula.

A Sunrise in the Wilderness Sunrise captured along Mt Evans, in Colorado. The pines in the background are rare Bristlecome Pines, one of the oldest living things on earth. I just had to pause, in spite of me sucking in the o2 at the elevation, and take a few shots.

The light was changing every minute. I climbed over some huge rocks to get into a great position to take some surfing shots, when suddenly this huge cloud covered up the sun. Suddenly the beautiful light illuminating the waves the surfers were riding was gone. I looked to my left and noticed the light here. Quickly, I grabbed my stuff and setup this shot…..only got one frame, because soon after this the light here was also gone. Taken from a lookout tower next to my accommodation on Mabul Island in Borneo. It was early morning and this approaching rainstorm looked like a huge ribbon in the sky. The darker storm clouds were just out of the frame but it really pelted down about 5 minutes after I took this shot. View more of my landscapes by going to: / Landscape

Last one (I promise!) / Taken on the same day as Three Sisters and Sisters Rising but about thirty minutes earlier. / I was going to leave it at two shots, but I wanted to show you how the cloud in the sky hung like a low blanket before it dispersed in Three Sisters. / I also love the morning light on the cloud in the valley.
