For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 As God’s children we are to grow more and more like Jesus as we mature. God loves us way too much to allow us remain as we were before we found salvation through Jesus Christ. As we grow we learn that only God is able to fully handle our problems here in this world. He doesn’t even have it in mind for us to handle them on our own. The popular phrase, “God only helps those who help themselves” is nowhere to be found in God’s Bible. As we endure the trials and persecutions of life we can look inward for the strength and courage to prevail, or we can look upward in humility to our Heavenly Father who longs to protect His hurting children. When we draw closer to Him through prayerfully meditating on His Word we begin to discover that God alone is the Believer’s refuge and strength, and an ever-present help in our times of trouble. Our heavenly Father has promised to never leave us alone in this world. Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead as our Savior and Lord and daily talks to God on our behalf. We can rest assured that He is fully in control of all things, and nothing happens to us that He has not permitted. Nothing can or will take us from His hand. He knows our past, He sees our present circumstances and He knows the outcome. Are you in a hopeless place feeling alone and abandoned? Focus on the Truth of God’s Word and draw near to God through Jesus Christ and “know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”. Did this picture catch your eye; it might be more than just the colors! This painting has been rendered with a special Painting with Light technique that “paints” the picture using the Bible verse text as the paintbrush. You are seeing the verse above painted millions of times repeatedly across the canvas! The final result is a picture that perhaps God first used to catch your eye, and then used to touch and encourage your heart. In Isaiah 55:11, God says that wherever He sends His word it never returns empty, but always achieves the special purpose for which it was sent. I pray that God has supernaturally reached and forever blessed you through His word today. Mark Lawrence, Romans 8:28 VerseVisions®, 2007. Digital mixed media on canvas, 36×36 inches. Photographed at More London Place, between Tower Bridge and London Bridge. Despite the area being packed with camera-clicking tourists, security accosted me and told me I was forbidden to take pictures. When asked why I was singled out, I was told it was because I had a tripod. When I asked what difference that made, the security man revealed that there was a chance that I was a terrorist casing out the joint. I pointed out that he couldn’t possibly be correct as terrorists not only carry large, indiscreet cameras (mounted on a tripod) but have large, flashing neon signs bearing the word “Please stand clear! Terrorist at work”. I don’t think he believed me, but I reckon he would have if I’d downgraded the neon light to a T-shirt. Canon 10D / 1/250th sec at f 9.5 / 35-135mm lens at 35mm / ISO 100

But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house. ~Genesis 40:14 Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” ~1 Samuel 1:11 Stock Credits: / http://coldhunter.deviantart.com/
