  • Sunset sunbeams come down to the central shortgrass prairie of SE Colorado as if projected from eyes scanning the grassland below. Taken near Comanche National Grassland on private land.

  • Do you want to stop? Captured with a Canon 5D and 85mm 1.8 USM prime lens. / No digital manipulations, no tricks. / I took this shot on a vulcanic mountain on the beautiful island of La Palma. / There was a road going almost all the way up to the highest mountain since there are three world-class telescopes in the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory on La Palma (the scientists have to drive up there easily). Since it’s one of the steepest islands of the world you get these amazing views. I took this shot around 2400m above sea level. When I saw the stop sign it caught my interest immediately.

  • The sound of Awakening / (Captured with a Canon 5D + 16-35L II lens) Since my mother is a Yoga teacher she asked me if I could take some interesting pictures with a tibetan singing bowl for her. So I went all the way up to the “Roque de los Muchachos” (La Palma, 2400 metres above sea level). In Buddhist practice, singing bowls are used as a support for meditation. / When I was looking for an interesting perspective, I found an interesting bush with the mountains being in the background

  • The Louvre

  • Taken at Shangri La Jungle Lodge in the Amazon Rainforest, Ecuador. The upper Napo river is seen in the foreground, and the Volcanoes of the Andes in the distance. This was an absolutely idyllic place, set on top of a cliff providing the most amazing views. We saw frogs, monkeys, bats, snakes and very large spiders to add to the excitement! • Up the road from the Promised Land and around the corner from Nowhere Else I stumbled across La La Hill. Bonus points if you get the reference ;)

  • This image looks better full size! I had this gorgeous shot of the St-Jacques river in La Prairie, Quebec, that I made early one morning a few weeks ago. However, the sky was cloudy and gray, with a very weak sun, making everything look flat and dull. On the other hand, there was absolutely no wind and the river was totally still with amazing reflections, so I thought I had to try something to salvage the shot. I decided to see if I could bring it to life with some post-processing effects in Photoshop. I applied a fake polarizing effect (applying gaussian blur to a duplicate layer in grayscale, then inverting and blending in overlay mode), boosted the saturation a little and played with levels and curves in adjustment layers. I also cropped and cloned out a few distracting bits in the foreground. Focal length 18mm / ISO-200 / Aperture f/4.5 / Shutter 1/80 sec. • mrsdollaway-stock.deviantart.com / and the rest purchased / plus one sky texture from / wildwinyan-stock.deviantart.com changed the title – something a little less cliche

  • My husband and I took a ride to the coast yesterday to visit Grand Isle, Louisiana, which is a barrier island in Jefferson Parish sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and Barataria Bay. This is a shot of the marshlands which are typical of the region’s terrain in the extreme southeastern part of the state. It was a stormy day in which we dodged one torrential shower after another. I took this photo along Highway 1, the only access to Grand Isle.

  • La Salle is just off HWY 16 about 30 miles west of McBride BC in the Robson Valley. I grew up just a few miles from this spot. The Mountain in the background is nick named Hammer Mountain because Many years ago, I think before I was born, a forest fire left a scar in the shape of a hammer head just below tree line and below and to left of the highest peak. View large and see if you can spot it. / I took this photo over 20 years ago with my Canon AE-1 Program film camera. Captured on Kodak 100asa film.
