I have been waiting for this kind of shot for a long time. The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. Of course I have many different shots just like this :-) I posted a photo in color as well at a different time called – Approaching / Autumn / ....................................................................................................................... / / ....................................................................................................................... / Click to View By Category: / - Waterfall Photos / - Selective Coloring / - Infrared Photos / - Black and White Photos / - Animal Photos / ............................................................................................................... / / ................................................................................................................ /

The Alien landscape inside the creater of Haleakala on Maui, Hawaii as the sun rises over the horizon. IT was freezing cold up there with a temp of about 40 and winds of 25mph or more. We got up at 3AM to make it there for sunrise and watched the temp drop almost 40 degrees as we made out ascent.

A funny thing happened on the way to Mt. Rainier well before sunrise. I noticed the morning mist rising over Clear Lake and the cirrus clouds fanning out above them and decided that a glorious sunrise on the lake was worth more than a maybe on the mountain. I fumbled my way in the dark via flashlight to the lakes edge and had time to search for composition before the heavens lit up. Not a bad way to start a day at all.

An angel sits by the water’s edge and gazes toward a home she desperately misses. I suppose I could make this my second autobiographical piece after Foreign World. I may not be an angel, but I miss the town and house I grew up in. The sky is a photo of a fingerpainting I did yesterday (it was way too big to scan) and has only undergone slight colour alteration and slight blurring. Everything else is pure photoshop magic.

This is actually a photo of the sky with an airplane contrail that is reflecting sunlight something like a rainbow. I increased the contrast with software to darken the contrail and concentrate the rainbow effect. There were no clouds! Shot with 300mm telephoto. PLEASE NOTE: The original file and prints are better quality and more detailed than the reduced sized views shown here.

Two photographs. One printed out, distressed and photographed again and the other of clouds. I chose a photograph that had a shadow to represent the physical presence we feel in our dreams. Dreaming is a time when we can make new memories with our loved ones whom have passed on…...it always feels so real….......... / I chose a picture of clouds to represent the cloudy feeling we get when we wake from our heavenly dreams…........................

I wonder sometimes if what is seen looking up there at the heavens, is but a reflection of the immensity and grandeur of what might be seen if we truly looked inwards…....

This is a collaboration of myself and the very talented photographer Kenneth Fugate. I approached Ken today when I saw his skyscape piece titled “Light”. I just thought it was stunning!! He agreed and sent me the photo. I’m VERY VERY PROUD of this piece. It was again inspired by the passion I have for birds of prey; they are just such magnificent birds to me!! This is a combination of two photos My red-tailed hawk and Kenneth Fugate’s skyscape This red-tailed hawk was in captivity due to a permanent injury. I’ve used PS to merge the two photos. The inspiration for this piece has come from a responsibility I feel I have … to HELP protect our beautiful resources in nature and my love for admiring and creating ART. I hope you like it Ken :-) I absolutely LOVE it!! / ; /
