“When you have come to the edge of all light that you know and are about to drop off into darkness of the unknown. Faith is knowing one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.” Patrick Overton.

I have been trying for ages to get a shot of the pigeons in flight, today, i was rewarded. I just happened to be there when the fanciers turned up and proceeded to let them go. As i have said before, the fanciers in Spain colour the wings and tails with some sort of dye. Oliva, Spain. Kodak Easyshare C653. 15/1/09.

I have been posting some pictures of the baby birds that had made their home in my kayak a few weeks ago. I have been watching their progress every day, from the one baby on the day that it hatched to 5 happy healthy siblings. To my horror yesterday I found that they had all disappeared! No sign of a struggle though and mum and dad seemed to have gone as well. I guess it was inevitable that they would leave and at least I can go kayaking again!
The wind was blowing so hard as the storm approached. My wife was feeding the seagulls and they were just hovering over us. Made for some really neat shots with the Great Salt Lake and the storm in the background.
Taken in Bellewaerde, a recreation parc near to the city of Dadizele (Flanders – Belgium).
Best on full Size Another eagle capture from the November 21, 2009 shoot on the Conowingo Dam with Mike Rucci , BigD and Lori Deiter . This image is a compilation of the eagle image, shot at 300mm and taken with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens at Conowingo, Maryland, 11/21/09; and the clouds which were taken on 5/29/09 with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens in Montgomery County, Maryland. Images combined in Photoshop and treated to a bit of dodging and burning.
Best On Full Size “You choose to go voluntarily into the fire. The blaze might well destroy you. But if you survive, every blow of the hammer will serve to shape your being. Every drop of water wrung from you will temper and strengthen your soul.” -Margaret Weis, Soulforge (finished posting image at 1:30 am 12/10/09) A compilation of two of my images. The eagle was taken on November 21, 2009 at Conowingo Dam in Conowingo Maryland with fellow RedBubblers Mike Rucci , BigD , and Lori Deiter with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens (at 300mm). The sky image was taken on April 12, 2008 in Montgomery County, Maryland, during an amazing and unusual sunset with the Nikon D40x and the 18-135mm Nikon lens. Several layers of both images combined in Photshop at various blendings and opacities. Dodging and burning and a faint dry brush filter applied to my birdie friend rounded out the fun.
