  • Where most of us usually reside. I am just recently learning that “Cloud Nine” is not a globally known term. So as an explanation: people who are euphorically happy are usually said to be “Living on Cloud Nine” or “On Cloud Nine”. Well, in most of our lives rain will fall, rabbits will eat our tulips and birds will land on our heads. We may not live in a palace, and have to climb many steps to get there. We are not unhappy, but living a life of euphoric happiness is one cloud over. oh, and I dont know if thats a states thing or not too, our houses are odd and even, so all the odd house numbers are on one side of the street and the even on the other. : ) Here is a detail of the design (fabric texture is not on actual print) /

  • Up near Tahoe, CA I know Sepia toning can be overdone, but with this photo, I would have it no other way… Thank you for looking! :-) Had a Pink Floyd song playing in the background while shooting this, really a great combo… “Learning to Fly” ~ Pink Floyd ”..... above the planet on a wing and a prayer / my grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air / across the clouds I see my shadow fly / out of the corner of my watering eye / a dream unthreatened by the morning light / gould blow this soul right through the roof of the night there’s no sensation to compare with this / suspended animation, a state of bliss / can’t keep my mind from the circling sky / tongue-tied & twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I .. “

  • Inspired by the artwork on the walls of a restaurant in London :)

  • I always question the afterlife… I guess it comes from missing my father… and high hopes that he often walks along side of me… So I figured I’d do a wee bit of a photo manip to sharpen my skills a little more… this is all new to me… and this one was a lot less complex then the last one… but I rather liked the outcome! Thank you for looking and all of your support!

  • This picture expresses how I feel. I have been very ill the last several years. Sometimes I feel like a dark cloud is hanging over my head and I just can’t get away from it. The picture of the cloud is real I just added a little shading and color. I think that we all feel that way at one time or another. We just have to remember that the storm will pass and the light will come back. Thanks for taking the time to look. Have a great day.

  • Painting is better than these pictures make it look. The Empire State Express was one of the named passenger trains and onetime flagship of the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad (a predecessor of the modern New York Central Railroad). It became the world’s first high-speed passenger train on September 14, 1891, when it covered the 436 miles (702 kilometers) between New York City and Buffalo in just 7 hours and 6 minutes (including stops). The train averaged 61.4 miles-per-hour (98.8 km/h), a new world speed record in rail travel, with an officially-recorded top speed of 82 mph (132 km/h), though observers claimed to have clocked the train at 112 mph, or 180 km/h.1 / In short order, the train would gain worldwide celebrity, and its route would later stretch to 620 miles (998 kilometers), with Cleveland, Ohio as its western terminus. In addition to its other notable accomplishments, the Empire State was the first passenger train to maintain a regular schedule speed of over 52 mph (84 km/h), and the first to make runs of 142.88 miles (230 km) between stops (between New York City and Albany: the longest scheduled nonstop run ever attempted).December 7, 1941, the New York Central inaugurated a new, all-stainless-steel streamlined (Budd) train, powered by a streamlined J-3a Hudson (4-6-4) steam locomotive. Passengers on the inaugural run were very surprised at the low turnout at trackside en route, before they learned later that same day that Pearl Harbor had just been bombed by the Japanese. / 30×48 oil on canvas

  • A lofty wet darkness / Above western seas / Invading blue’s starkness / By strong ocean breeze / / Sparkles that now dance / Where sky meets the sea / Take their last prance / Before they all flee / / Then partners of rain drops / Will claim that dance floor / And the echo of flip-flops / Will be gone from the shore / / This photo was taken about twenty miles north of Florence, Oregon. It shows a weather phenomenon, known commonly as the ‘Pineapple Express’, where heavy precipitation is carried across the Pacific in a fast moving system from the Hawaiian islands region to the Pacific Northwest. / / This photo is a very good example of that phenomenon, with clear skies over the coast to the east, while the heavy clouds over the ocean move in from the southwest. I love the multitude of different hues that dance across the water, and the contrast between the clear blue sky and the dark clouds beside it. / /

  • This picture was taken last winter in New Farm Park. I didn’t post it until now because I was never happy with the titles I came up with. It needed something meaningful for reasons that are not important. In any case, I finally decided on this japanese expression. If you’re interested in its meaning, here it is: / Mono no aware (物の哀れ, mono no aware, lit. “the pathos of things”), also translated as “an empathy toward things,” or “a sensitivity of ephemera,” is a Japanese term used to describe the awareness of mujo or the transience of things and a bittersweet sadness at their passing. / It has also been translated as the ‘ahh-ness’ of things.
