This is painted in acrylic on stretched canvas. I love to paint vegetables and fruit in glass and silver. I like the transparency of the crystal with the distorted green capsicum showing through. Also the way the light reflects off the crystal and breaks into colours on the right hand side. See more of Freda’s works: / Boats / City / Fractals / Stillife / Figures Freda’s website

With this image I cut out a guitar from a photo of my brother in law jamming on Easter 2007. I cleaned it up, put it through my filter gallery, added the poster edges effect, then I cloned some spots to darken some areas. I also added some shadow on the bottom of the guitar with my basic brushes (photoshop brushes). I then added swirls (photoshop brushes) and erased some parts of it. For the background I added angel wings (photoshop brushes) and put some style to them. I gave them somewhat of an invisible look so whatever color shirt you choose, the wings will be that color. I also added some hearts (photoshop brushes) because we all have that love for music. Underneath the guitar, I added some musical notes (photoshop brushes) to give it that nice touch. Then I said to myself, what the hell, I will add some splatter paint to it to give some extra color and for more of a playful look. For the colors, I altered the colors with my image adjustments. I fixed the contrast, added highlights, and made an auto color adjustment. This is my entry for the music machines challenge
Winter just came to an end in Melbourne and the weather is already showing signs of improvement. Trees have blossomed back into life and everything is feeling a lot less icy than it was a month ago. Summer is an awesome time to be living in Melbourne. Festivals, activity, birthdays, Christmas and new years all make up 3 of the best months to be alive! The original photo of a tree is my own, from a shoot in the city. The texture was taken from www.deviantart.com, specifically from here. Colour altering and slight darkening of original image.
