Landell Designs – Fashion Shoot / / Contact: landelldesigns@hotmail.com / / Model: Bridget McGrath / / Had the absolute pleasure of conducting a fashion shoot at The Croft Institute / I was approached by Lisa Defazio in regards to doing this shoot and leaped at the opportunity! / / Lisa was also sweet enough to answer some questions for me…. / / PLV So, what exactly is it that you do? / LISA I am a clothing designer, I make wearable fashionable clothing that flatters the female form…it is what I was born to do. I had a sewing machine before I attended primary school. / / / PLV How do people get to see your stunning designs up close? / LISA I can be contacted on the email address above regarding event nights. My label is not available in stores only at invitation only events. / My first launch will be held within the next four weeks. / / PLV Where is your business headed? / LISA I want to be an exclusive well recognized quality Australian label made locally with concept stores in every capital city – to begin with :) / Then New York, London, Paris, Germany and Japan. / PLV Tell us more about you as a designer… / LISA I believe fashion doesn’t have to be overly complex or difficult to wear, I intend my clothing line to be the garments you look forward to wearing, to be the first thing you reach for in your wardrobe. I design items that can be worn in a variety of ways, dressed up or down and can be worn by the young and old alike, classy, distinctive, timeless often with styling from another time. Pop Art is a visual art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in parallel in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop Art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist’s use of the mass produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of Fine Art since Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation. The concept of Pop Art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.

Andrew Warhola (August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987), known as Andy Warhol, was an American artist and a figure in the movement known as pop art. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became famous worldwide for his work as a painter, avant-garde filmmaker, record producer, author, and public figure known for his membership in wildly diverse social circles that included bohemian street people, distinguished intellectuals, Hollywood celebrities and wealthy aristocrats. Warhol has been the subject of numerous retrospective exhibitions, books, and feature and documentary films since his death in 1987. Warhol coined the phrase 15 minutes of fame, which refers to the fleeting condition of celebrity that attaches to an object of media attention, then passes to some new object as soon as the public’s attention span is exhausted.
