I was walking around Omotesando and Harajuku to kill some time before meeting a friend the other night and found this patch of cosmos flowers. Planted out in the street, behind them were the lights of a shop and a vending machine was providing some light from my side. Just beautiful. Got mesmerised for a good fifteen minutes by these flowers. Nikon D300 / 85mm f/1.4 AF D

When I got my Canon PowerShot A640 in the early Summer of 2007 I started taking various shots in the backyard. This image of a purple Iris was one of the first macro shots I had ever taken, and definitely one of my most popular images here on RedBubble. I picked this rose out of my garden today (smells amazing by the way!!), decided to play around with lighting and this was the effect I achieved. Anyway, I like this one for a first attempt so I thought I will put this one up for a while to hopefully get some constructive criticism.. Also, I would love to know if this photo is to dark or light, I was trying to re-calibrate my monitor and I think I’ve might of messed it up! Ive put a watermark on this one because its quite big so if anyone wants it without the water mark just give me a shout! ive got a few photos of this flower now…but i really like the flower its so pretty…ill probably gather them all up and put them in a series, stlil got a few id like to play about with.
