No Close Macro Lens. Free hand shot no time for a tripod. But the color and subject still came out pretty good I guess. It was all there for the chance.. No telling when the Dragon Fly would be gone. Late sunlight.. I am posting it anyway.. Thank goodness my wife was there to steady my stance..
I love to get up close and personal to try to capture the beautiful blooms of summer. I am obviously influenced by the great Georgia O’Keefe, one of my favorite painters.
Caught this moisture filled spring bud after this morning’s rainstorm !
This was an overcast day.. But the light was weird.. I also wanted to get down during the brightness and see if I could capture this in a different light.. It made it look other worldly. Hope you can find enjoyment from this we did. A Relaxing View For Your Wall
Ok.. I had a beautiful Lily but the water was nasty.. I tried to fix that.. Not really good at changing things.. But I shall make time soon to read about it. This is the flower and I tried to get rid of the nasty water.. Its still pretty.. Something Pretty For The Wall Or Desk
This was the reason I got excited and switched lens’s while the digital was on.. So I decided to take the memory card out and see what came out. I am happy with the color and light.. after a rain.. So I will share it before we take off for a family party.. take care.. Enjoy Life.. Brighten Up Your Room
I think Kathy caught a nice bit of light here.. The smell of these early in the morning are something like a cross between a med sweet rose and honeysuckle .. They attract Butterfly’s and Humming Birds and Bee’s of all sorts.. I look forward to this time of year when they bloom by the thousands.. Also they share the time of year with the Lotus which bloom and are close by and almost the same colors.. She did a fine job here.. A Wonderful Flower For The Wall
I tried something new. The sunshine was peeking through the overhead tree’s onto the side of the Lotus Pond where this was growing. It hit just a few places and so I tried the DOF just enough. The camera had a certain shutter speed to balance.. I decided to go to S priority and cut it to a third.. I like how this came out.. Hope you do too.. Art For The Bedroom
Matted Print Sold – Thank you! I spent countless hours the past 2 summers trying to obtain that certain bee in flight shot. I have several images but none of them were quite what I had hoped for and envisioned. The 70-200 faster lens was used, the macro with and without flash – every shutter speed setting, DOF, you name it…I tried it! I also assumed I could not obtain a focused in flight shot using my macro, with flash, and a 1/200 ss. I believe I was wrong :o) Even with the proper settings, and prime conditions, obtaining the proper timing with these busy little bees is an art in itself! / Bugs are Beautiful / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

Had a walk about this morning. A gentle breeze and cool air told me to grab the camera while the season held these Lotus in there showings.. I liked the soft view of this flower. I made three versions of it to upload for those with different tastes.. I hope one out of the three finds a smile on your face.. / Chuck.. Another Macro work. Taken almost a year back in the field against windy conditions. One of my early photographs with Macro lens. Original RAW image processed in Photoshop CS3. Equipment : Canon EOS 400D & EF – F2.8, 100 mm Macro lens.
This amazing flower appeared in my little garden and stole away my breath…it is the only one that appeared this year…I am sure I sowed many seeds but for whatever reason this was the only one that peeked out from amongst all the different flowers…perhaps she has figure out that it is ok to be different…an enlightened flower:) / It’s perfect mate in a super macro shot of a water drop on one of it’s teensie “spokes”. /
