  • All of these icicle pix were taken last week in my backyard here in CT. ,after an ice storm. / The icicles formed on 3 large azalia bushes. I took a LOT of pix and was amazed at the colors and shapes I was able to capture. I usually don’t like to post so many pix of the same subject, but I can’t help myself in this case- they are just ALL so different.! / I apologize if it’s getting a little too repetitious, but just when I promise myself I won’t post any more, I come across another nice capture. Thanks for your understanding !!!!

  • Lovely image of winter foliage with a slight coating of ice, lightly falling snow and touched with sparkling sunlight, against a background of beautiful azure blue sky. All artwork is © Rhonda L. • The goldfinches are usually gone from southern Louisiana by this time, but for some reason I’m still seeing a few stragglers. This one is in the process of “changing clothes” from winter green to summer gold plumage. I usually don’t see the goldfinches after they’ve made this transition, but I’m happy that I can witness the fashion makeover this year.

  • Blue Thistle…

  • Frost on an old running shoe sitting on a snow bank. 1 half of the pair I used in garden and I left them outside because they were muddy. Later in the winter when I was shoveling snow I dug this one up and left it on top of the snow. A few days later there was a heavy frost and I when out to take photos of it when I spotted this frosty shoe thought it would made a neat picture. Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT / Film / Media: Digital / Lens: 18-55mm MY BUBBLESITE

  • I went out a for a little while today, in order to shoot my first photos in the snow, and I discovered this little snowflake hanging by a leftover spider thread in the trees beside our house. • Hoarfrost on an elm tree! I took this one on film a few winters back. / Hoarfrost show you which way is south (in the northern hemisphere that is), because it forms on the side of a tree or other object that is facing the sun which is to the south. Good thing to know if your lost in the woods on a frosty day. MY BUBBLESITE

  • This looking up thru the narrow gap between roofs of my house & my garage which are heavily laden with snow. The snow is about a foot deep at this spot on the roofs. No adjustment were made to this photo. As is from my camera! MY BUBBLESITE

  • This is a Macro shot of water droplets gathering together after a heavy winters rain. / Although barely visible the droplets are clinging to a leaf (top mid right corner)

  • This is just a tiny area on my window (about and inch), and when it’s very cold out, the crystals and frost designs are just like a silver forest in the snow. Here in Canada, especially on the prairies – we have frost and snow from November to March. I’m quite proud to see how Canadians do their best with coping with the 5-6 months of cold. Hockey, Skiing, Skating, Curling, Snowmobiling, or simply enjoying even the little details of frost! We make the best of the cold as well as our wonderful summers.

  • Nikon D60 / Lens: Nikon 18-55mm / f/5.6 1/60 ISO200 / as is

A MONETARY SETTLEMENT for any unauthorized use, and prosecution in a US Federal Court, as well as Court Cost will be assessed. I used my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with EOS Lens 75 – 300. / BEST VIEWED LARGE. TAKEN AS IS. This was taken near yellowstone last winter. It was early part of winter. Icicles are some of the most beautiful to shoot, especially with water. During fall, winter, and spring, it gets very cold and you have to dress wisely for shooting like this. It takes a long time.

  • Peony plants with frost and ice-pellets on them. / Photo taken outside my home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Oct 13th,2009 / Camera: Canon Power Shot A570IS

  • This is made in APO 3D using the classic Julian Script by Elizabeth Tomcheck. It took me a while to get the technique down, but I love this perspective when making a julian. They have so many details that can be missed. FEATURED IN JULIAS AND MANDELBROTS 11-09-09 / /
