  • Macro shot of a multicolored leaf.

  • My first close-up bird.I’m very proud of it.I think this would make a great card with those striking eyes.Untouched…as is / I realy have a passion for nature,I wish I could have shots like this one more often…

  • I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty. / UPDATE- / In 2008 this painting was STOLEN. / It was being displayed in Bentley Pines Restaurant with a group of other art from fellow students. toward the end of the year the restaurant went though refurbishments and stored the works in a disabled toilets :/ we were asked to collect the work but this painting had already gone before it could be collected. Ive contacted all the people in charge and been forwarded around like a telstra customer on hold and still haven’t gotten it back. :(

  • Here’s one I took today… I like it for it’s simplicity. This leaf also was placed on a mirror.

  • Rusty wall with lime leaking through. Created a interesting, abstract structure…

  • A macro photograph, taken with fuji velvia 50 slide film.

  • Amur Tiger – 9mths old- Super big now

  • Light trails of the standby LED of my computer monitor’s on/off switch in the “Off” state (orange). The international symbol for an on/off switch (a broken circle with a vertical bar through the break) can be seen in bright outline. A five second exposure at macro focus distance and aperture of f/8 with smooth slow camera movement by hand produced the swirling light trails. Copyright © 2008 Brian W. • Actually this Golden Pheasant was chasing peacocks… /

  • Beautiful colour and texture on a building in Essaouira, Morocco.

  • I don’t often see monarch butterflies, so when I spotted this one at Hodges Gardens near Many, Louisiana, I employed my husband’s help in trying to get a good shot at it. Tommy stood guard at the upper level of the butterfly garden while I posted myself in the lower portion. Thanks to my husband’s keen eye, I finally relocated the elusive flutterer and got this photo of it to which I’ve applied some PS filters.

  • All The cats today gave me front row attention..:) I had a blast..:) wore my secret weapon..:) /

  • (clouds with the flood effect) /

  • Nikon D300, Nikkor 105 micro VR. / I thought I would share my good news with you all. My image of Rudbeckia hirta ‘Marmalade’ has been awarded 1st prize in the plant portrait category of the RHS photographic competition and given me my dream of becoming RHS photographer of the year 2008.

  • i am very happy i stumbled upon this today. (11 feb 2009) Here is some panels of the fence that i took close up photographs of. As you can see each panel of fence has a completly different pattern, colour and texture. I have a fair few photographs taken and I have been able to produce some fantastic pieces of art. I think it is a fantastic find!!! / This abstract image is a little part of someones garden fence! Every strip of fence had been weather treated, but all the strips were completly different. i took lots of pictures as there were so many fantastic different shots. The wood fence looks as if it had been coated with weather stain, then it looks like a coat of tar had been applied, then it looks like the treated areas of the fence were blistered by the sun, leaving behind a some wonderful abstract art! i think that this picture looks like the sea – a field – hills – horizon with trees on it. / im uploading this picture, and i may upload another. i have cropped this picture slightly. i have adjusted the brightness/ contrast/ hue and saturation a little bit also, just to bring out the brilliance of what i photographed.

  • Simmondsia vitra is closely related to the Jojoba shrub (Simmondsia chinensis), pronounced “ho-HO-bah”. Jojoba is native to the Sonoran and Mojave deserts of Arizona, California, and Mexico. Simmondsia vitra however is primarily found in arid urban environments and produces an extremely toxic, oily substance. This image shows a detail of this work. oil on canvas / 120×80 cm. / original sold

  • My mom, Charmian, is the most AMAZING person – warm, talented, compassionate, energetic, accomplished, enthusiastic, sympathetic, witty, intelligent and loving. She can sail a yacht and play the drums. She cycles in bike races, and thinks nothing of cycling 80km just for fun. She can do woodwork, paint pictures and so many other things that I can’t list them all. And she can garden – her garden is extraordinary, full of lavish beauty and breathtakingly delightful. If I was any good at landscape photography I would have shown you just how good she is, but seeing as I’m not, I thought I would show you just one of the hundreds of stunning roses she grows. Taken after a morning of rain at her house in Magoebaskloof, South Africa. Camera Model Canon EOS 500D / Shooting Date/Time 2009/10/31 11:17:32 AM / Shooting Mode Manual Exposure / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/125 / Av( Aperture Value ) 6.3 / ISO Speed 100 / Lens EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM / Focal Length 100.0 mm
