Fresh cherry, straw and ice in a carbonated beverage.
Trying some macro (without a macro lens, just flipping my kit lens and holding on tight) and I was amused at how these bubbles came out to look like a pair of glasses.
All of these icicle pix were taken last week in my backyard here in CT. ,after an ice storm. / The icicles formed on 3 large azalia bushes. I took a LOT of pix and was amazed at the colors and shapes I was able to capture. I usually don’t like to post so many pix of the same subject, but I can’t help myself in this case- they are just ALL so different.! / I apologize if it’s getting a little too repetitious, but just when I promise myself I won’t post any more, I come across another nice capture. Thanks for your understanding !!!!

TOP 10 IN A CHALLENGE IN THE GROUP: Postcard Style / TOP 10 IN A CHALLENGE IN THE GROUP: Art by Bubble Hosts On August 2, 1876 a man strode into the saloon where Wild Bill sat playing cards. For one of the first times in his life Hickok broke one of his own rules and didn’t sit with his back to the wall – something every gunslinger and poker player tried to do for the sake of survival. This time it would cost him. Jack McCall walked up behind Wild Bill and shot him in the back of the head at 3:10 in the afternoon. Afterwards he confessed that he had no personal problem with Hickok but had been paid to shoot and kill him. Wild Bill Hickok had been in the middle of a poker game when Jack McCall shot him dead. The cards in his hand fell onto the table and were immediately recognized from that time forward as the Dead Man’s Hand, two Aces and two Eights; a lasting memorial of sorts to this legendary poker player and gunslinger. / Camera Canon 400D / Lens Canon 28 – 135 mm

Simmondsia vitra is closely related to the Jojoba shrub (Simmondsia chinensis), pronounced “ho-HO-bah”. Jojoba is native to the Sonoran and Mojave deserts of Arizona, California, and Mexico. Simmondsia vitra however is primarily found in arid urban environments and produces an extremely toxic, oily substance. This is a ‘still life’/’self-portrait’ idea I spontaneously had one day. The magnifying glass was a gift for my 50th Birthday. The photo being magnified is of me (during a modeling period of my life) taken around 1989. I wanted to depict a dreamlike quality of how time passes and the experiences one has along the way.
I found this behind a building in a small alley way, I gotta say that door caught my eye..it looks as if it is closed down, nothing really inside..This is the true color of the door, I just turned the wall b/w. Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR Lens /
