Common Name: Velvet Pink Banana / Botanical Name: Musa velutina / Family: Musaceae (Banana Family) Hana Maui Hawai’i A delightful dwarf species of banana, growing only 1-2m (4ft) tall, it bears somewhat waxy leaves with a pinkish midrib. The flowers are pink to orange and the very ornamental fruits, dwarf bananas, are a bright, velvety pink and last for months at a time.
