This morning as we were heading out for a walk around town, I saw this dragonfly in the trees, figured this would be a good test to see whether or not I’m figurint out this macro lens, slowly but surely i hope Canon Xt, Sigma Ex 105 macro lens

I caught this hoverfly dropping in for a quick snack just as a colorful raindrop landed on his wing !
I captured these mating flies in the backyard this afternoon. After snapping a few pix, they would fly away, still attached to each other and land in a new spot. I”m not sure which spot I liked best ,so I am posting Mating Flies (1), (2), & (3). Which one do you like best ?

The closer we get to insect life.. the more alien their world becomes! This bee/ fly landed on my windowsill and just started licking the pollen off itself. It didn’t stay long, so this was the best shot I got (best of four shots). The colour of the fly and pattern of the eyes amazes me. Also, if you notice, it also has it’s tongue out.
