Masquerade Art Print / Available as a framed art print, poster, card and laminated print. / Are we really happy with this lonely game we play / Searching but not finding understanding any way / We’re lost in this Masquerade. Both afraid to say we’re just too far away / From being close together from the start / We tried to talk it over but the words got in the way / We’re lost inside this lonely game we play. Thoughts of leaving disappear everytime I see your eyes / No matter how hard I try / To understand the reason that we carry on this way / We’re lost in this Masquerade. / Words & Music by Leon Russell Image copyright © 2008, Shanina Conway. / Reproduction, displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited

This is a collaboration i did with the incredibly talented Hans Kawitzki’s picture “The Forest”. Once again, as this is a collaboration, all proceeds will go to the Fred Hollows Foundation.

The dark elf rested on the rock face, taking the moment to wipe the last trace of blood from her blade. The dull light made her eyes ache, and she wished again that she was miles underground… Thanks to Kym Breeze for being an awesome sport and coming out with me for the day for a fantasy-themed photo session! She was a great model, not too demanding LOL!

Ink, watercolour and pencil drawing on paper. / Illustration I did whilst reading the book Wicked by Gregory Maguire. / Chistery is Elphaba’s beloved monkey whom she later sews wings onto. I really don’t like this drawing but I thinks it’s the closest I got to visualizing how sweet and innocent Chistery is in the book.

The life (for lack of a better word) of a reaper is not the casual, carefree existence you might imagine… It’s an eternally grave task, working your fingers to the bone and you can never, ever be late. “Death Takes a Holiday”? Pfyeah, right. This is one job where you never want to let the work pile up. There are days when you can feel it deep in your bones, and you just have to dig your way to the surface or the job will bury you. And when that golden opportunity presents itself it’s as if you wake from a dream, and finally you reap some well urned rest.

I believe this is apart of my “Adynis” series, though it’s not too serious. I just wanted to draw a few close ups of women that only exist in my head, lol. I really enjoyed making this piece and I hope you like it too. Thanks so much for views and comments :P. Postcardz: / Other Print Options: /

The original was created while I was on another art site. I liked it, at the time, but, I decided, rather than to just recreate it, I would make something different in celebration of time having moved on No, it has nothing to do with Wiccans, grey wtiches, or goddesses. It’s just a lady on one of those kind of days. Words by Linaji : Grey penatrating truth, / hair twisted and skewed / from hours spent, / in our passions cry, / Why? / Grey? / You? / Mists / Subtle lessons, / far away this seems so solid, / but the closer I come to knowing / You, / Grey, / Glue / Stuck in what seems the next thing to do We sip our coffee, / you look at your watch / I know soon the taxi will arrive, And the mists will not survive / Lifted You / Grey / Gone. / Gone.
