Seeds of a Clematis. / Shot in my backyard with my Canon A630.
Clematis are such GREAT climbing flowers! They bring us such a huge array of colors each spring, from white to pink to blue to magenta and purple – and love to climb trellises, trees, and buildings, wherever their little “curls” can get a good hold.. Clematis aristata is an Australian climbing plant found in the forests of the eastern states. When this was taken it was pouring – rain all over the camera and lens! In the gloom these three good spirits were nicely aligned and oblivious to the turmoil around them. The Litae were the daughters of Eris and Zeus and sisters of Ate. After Zeus cast Ate to earth from Mt. Olympus, she wandered around, causing mischief. The Litae trailed behind her, doing their best to fix the problems she created – Greek mythology.
As is, Canon A630 / this plant grows at the back of my garden Featured in Compact Group
This is lianne’s Purple Clematis which she so kindly allowed me to abstract. I think I have the right one, lianne tell me if I haven’t and I will change it. It was such a beautiful capture, it was so easy to abstract. Thank you lianne.xxx

Clematis (pronounced /ˈklɛmətɨs/,[1] from Ancient Greek klematis, a climbing plant, probably periwinkle) is a genus of mostly vigorous climbing lianas, with attractive flowers. Some species are shrubby, and some others are herbaceous perennial plants. They are generally calcicole species, found throughout the temperate regions of both hemispheres, and also in mountains in the tropics, on limestone and other basic soils. The cool temperate species are deciduous, but many of the warmer climate species are evergreen. Most species are known as Clematis in English, while some are also known as traveller’s joy, old man’s beard, leather flower, vase vine and virgin’s bower, the last three being names used for North American species
