  • I took this picture on the steepest island of the world…La Palma (canarian islands). Although it’s the steepest island of the world it’s very rare that it’s snowy on top of the biggest vulcanic mountain. / It was a lucky week so I drove all the way up to the “Roche De Los Muchachos”>>> / (3000 metres high). Shortly before I reached the top a little cave caught my attention. / I went inside and discovered beautiful, thick icicles. The energy there was incredible….it felt pure….above the clouds…elements. check what the product looks like here thank you for stopping by!

  • A cold mist rises from the surface of Clear Lake on a cold fall morning a twilight begins to glow across the clouds and still waters of the lake.

  • Minutes before sunrise the cold mist of an autumn morning rises off the still surface of Clear Lake in Washington

  • Mt. Rainier reveals its majesty as it peeks from behind low clouds and reflects in the still waters of Bench LAke

  • A funny thing happened on the way to Mt. Rainier well before sunrise. I noticed the morning mist rising over Clear Lake and the cirrus clouds fanning out above them and decided that a glorious sunrise on the lake was worth more than a maybe on the mountain. I fumbled my way in the dark via flashlight to the lakes edge and had time to search for composition before the heavens lit up. Not a bad way to start a day at all.

  • Perhaps my favorite stretch of sand on Maui is this. Po’olenalena Beach is where I generally go to make images of hula dancers, and find quiet moments. Po’olenalena is “over the rocks” and so most tourists cannot find it. This image is layered from 5 exposures, creating a High Dynamic Range effect.

  • Keila Cascade was shot a in the Estonia.

  • A clearing storm just before sunset on the Napali Coast, captured from Kalalau Lookout in Kokee State Forest on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. For me, the incredible light and views that can be seen at different times of the day from this vantage point are second to none in all of Hawaii. The only thing you need to do is be patient when you arrive, as this area is frequently fogged in and rainy. As an example, I waited almost 2 hours before the sky broke and I was able to capture this shot. For me it was worth the wait ! • 3200 ISO is a brave new world for me. As a self confessed low ISO junkie, one who used Ektar 25 film whenever and wherever he could for many years because I wanted tight grain, the tighter the better, I would pull out all the stops I could to use that amazing ISO 25 film! For sure I’d never gone above ISO 1000 and then only to shoot indoor sporting events. Low ISO was(?) a hang-up for me! But I wanted to try astral photography and high ISO can get you there! However as we all know high ISO leads to increased noise which is something fairly new to me. You can use software and Photoshop plugins but I’ve been considering, one way to control noise would be to minimize or eliminate it by keeping the ISO as low as possible and that’s one way I‘m leaning. So in that regard it looks like a fast 50 prime is in order! It’s fun to be experimenting and learning, eh! Camera Model Canon EOS 50D / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 30 / Av( Aperture Value ) 3.5 / ISO Speed 3200 / Focal Length 18.0mm / Flash at 1/16 power and about 12 or 13 paper towels for diffusion. “One Night Under the Milky Way” was shot at Flamber Head on Newfoundland’s East Coast Trail For more information please visit Brian’s Homepage or on Flickr
