Long lonely country lane, very cloudy skies.
A country road in Wirral, England / Robert Frost (1874ā1963). Mountain Interval. 1920. / / 1. The Road Not Taken / / / TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood, / And sorry I could not travel both / And be one traveler, long I stood / And looked down one as far as I could / To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5 / / Then took the other, as just as fair, / And having perhaps the better claim, / Because it was grassy and wanted wear; / Though as for that the passing there / Had worn them really about the same, 10 / / And both that morning equally lay / In leaves no step had trodden black. / Oh, I kept the first for another day! / Yet knowing how way leads on to way, / I doubted if I should ever come back. 15 / / I shall be telling this with a sigh / Somewhere ages and ages hence: / Two roads diverged in a wood, and Iā / I took the one less traveled by, / And that has made all the difference. 20 / /

This was a lovely place to walk, with the dappled light through the trees giving an almost misty effect and wonderful shadows across the lane. / Image captured near Old Sarum, Salisbury, Wiltshire

This a rehashed version of a previous work titled Country Lane. This one is much wider, with 6 photos stitched to provide a large view of this rural valley between Holbrook and Culcairn in southern NSW Australia. Click on ‘View Larger’ for better viewing. A quiet track within Mimosa Rocks National Park on the NSW Far South Coast. This national park is 5km north of the coastal village of Tathra. It was probably one of the old logging tracks when this area was all State Forest up until about 30 years ago. The trees here are Spotted Gum Corymbia maculata. Every now and then we left the car and walked forward to check that we could get through the next section. This was an occasion when a 4WD would definitely have come in handy! The setting is near Kalbarri on WA’s mid west coast and for the record we DID get through!
We are down in the far south of Western Australia The caption is a bit misleading though. Sure, the road does go to Shelley Beach – eventually – as we found out
a country character taking his dogs for a breath of air
Another country road that is not much travelled, yet the scenery is interesting and the beach at the end is beautiful. It is in the south of Western Australia quite near the small town of Denmark and about 500 kms south of Perth.
This bush track is, naturally, 4WD only and it does get VERY rough the further it progresses. It is in the south west of Western Australia and goes through the D’Entrecasteaux National Park, traversing the Yeagarup sand dunes on the way. It is fairly close to the timber town of Pemberton and is about 400 kms south of Perth. As a matter of interest it is one of only 3 or 4 access points to the fabulous South Ocean between Augusta and Windy Harbour.

With some late-summer rain, the hayfields turn green again with the regrowth of clover, alfalfa and grass. When the cattle are brought in from their summer range, this regrowth will feed them until winter arrives. For this evening though, the fields bask in the sun as the shadows stretch across the land.
This is a wonderful part of a circular walk I did, the sun was flickering through the branches, insisting that I took the shot … I hope that I have added an atmosphere that you like ….... / . / Photoshop CS3 / PhotoArtMaster / . / Abbeycymhir / Mid Wales UK / . / Copyright 2008 Richie Dean
