  • Clay County Park
    by Dawne Olson

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Despite its discomforts, winter in South Dakota offers some of the most beautiful opportunities for photography. I took this picture at a county park near the Missouri river on a morning that was graced with new fallen snow and a dense fog that often hovers near the waters of the river. This image has sold 4 times as a large framed print from Tigert’s Art Gallery in downtown Vermillion, South Dakota.

    Dream within a Dream
    by ~ Ademac

    US$3.99–US$91.20

  • Toned Black and White Photomontage From the Safara series..A contemplative woman photographed on a remote dry lake bed in the Mojave desert, a place that seems to breathe with a meditative emptiness. I wanted to create an image illustrating a woman’s inherent connection to the planet, that she was earth in her essential nature. The photo montage was made in camera. On a tripod the lake bed was photographed, then the film was backed up in the camera, and she was photographed on the same section of film, creating perfect registration of cracked earth blending into her figure.

  • CHUNKIE Forest
    by Karin Taylor

    US$5.23–US$119.32

/ CHUNKIE Calendar Series One now available / / Chunkies are a new series of figurines I am working on .. / / CHUNKIE Birthday Fairy / / CHUNKIE Owl / / CHUNKIE Lotus Love on Golden Pond / / CHUNKIE Mermaid / / CHUNKIE Sunshine / / CHUNKIE / Elephant / / CHUNKY Diver / / CHUNKY Indian / / CHUNKIE Surfer / / CHUNKIE Ballerina / / CHUNKIE Geisha / / CHUNKIES in love / / CHUNKIE Hula girl / / CHUNKIE China / / CHUNKIE Lollipop Lover / / CHUNKIE Forest / / CHUNKIE Party / / CHUNKIE Pirate / / CHUNKIE Mod Girl / / CHUNKIE Tooth Fairy / / CHUNKIE Mother and Child / / CHUNKIE Wedding Next in line is CHUNKIE Forest…Forest is an eco warrior and friendly angel who lives deep in the heart of the forest, she cares deeply for the environment, here she is ready and waiting for any who may stumble near….waiting with a cup of fairtrade tea and offering peace and friendship to all….she is here to remind us of how we must take care with our natural environment for the creatures, the wilderness and the future of our children… Hand crafted from plasticine, her little outfit is made from dried out teabags which were fashioned into a hat and dress….behind her is a background of pandanus dried leaves i picked up near the beach and an assortment of dried leaves and twigs i collected over time, as well, the foreground is made from a beautiful piece of paperbark supplied to me by my father in law who is in his 80’s…who lovingly found and gave it to me, knowing that i collect special things like this…this is the first time i’ve been able to use it….thank you Grandad! The butterfly and birds were taken from my painting “Thoughts and Things” and the white flower is an old plastic earring….the teapot was given to me by my father who knows I collect tiny silver things like this…..from an op shop somewhere, thank you dad! The table is a cork! Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

  • "Hands On"
    by Bradley Shawn Rabon

    US$4.16–US$95.00

I was commissioned to take some photos of hands in a variety of situations and activities for an organisation call Scripture Union for their website. Part of that collection was this shot of my friend throwing a pot. i was captivated by the way her hands worked the wet clay, moulding and shaping with care and precision. The bible describes in Jeremiah 18 how a potter who creates the vessel can destroys it when it is corrupted and fashions a new one. We are in the creators hand ready to be moulded for his purposes. With strength and care, the hand holds the clay. • Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll / • 28-300mm IS zoom lens / • f/2.8 / • 1/15 / • Exposure Bias -1.00 / • ISO 160

  • CHUNKIE Owl
    by Karin Taylor

    US$5.23–US$119.32

CLICK HERE to buy this owl from the Phoenix-Appeal raising money for victims of the Victoria Bush Fires This little owl is currently trying to help raise some much needed funds to aid and assist people who have fallen victim to the dreadful bush fires in Victoria at the moment ….the card is available for purchase at Phoenix-Appeal and I would ask that you click on the link and purchase the owl from there instead, so the money will go directly to the appeal…. / 1 Sale so far / / CHUNKIE Mother and Boy Child / / CHUNKIE Calendar Series One now available / / Chunkies are a new series of figurines I am working on .. / / CHUNKIE Birthday Fairy / / CHUNKIE Owl / / CHUNKIE Lotus Love on Golden Pond / / CHUNKIE Sunshine / / CHUNKIE / Elephant / / CHUNKY Diver / / CHUNKY Indian / / CHUNKIE Surfer / / CHUNKIE Ballerina / / CHUNKIE Geisha / / CHUNKIES in love / / CHUNKIE Hula girl / / CHUNKIE China / / CHUNKIE Lollipop Lover / / CHUNKIE Forest / / CHUNKIE Party / / CHUNKIE Pirate / / CHUNKIE Mod Girl / / CHUNKIE Tooth Fairy / / CHUNKIE Mother and Child / / CHUNKIE Wedding / Next in line is CHUNKIE Owl – made originally from black plasticine, he has been photographed with a number of things like bits of forest floor and pebbles and sand…also used a beautiful piece of coral which is the white branches behind the little owl…his eyes, face and wings are all photoshopped in, and his little body’s colour has changed to give it a golden glow. Makes a nice greeting card for anyone for any reason, since owls are very popular. Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. We took a walk near home yesterday and came across a trench that had been dug for some cables. The clay that had been dug had dried and cracked in the sun.

She wears a little lotus on her head, symbolic of her royal status and the lotus symbolises strong and lasting affection. Around her feet are tiny white pebbles …...she is surrounded by water, on a golden pond…you can see her reflection (i used silver cardboard for the backdrop and ground) Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. • Pottery
    by Hena Tayeb

    US$4.32–US$98.80

This is another shot taken in Pakistan capturing the beauty that is created by the hands of the people. Here you see a man’s hands forming a bowl identical to the tens and twenties he has already created that morning. What you don’t see is that he sits on a flat rock on the floor surrounded by sand and gravel under a tattered tent shielding him from the blistering heat. But these conditions do not effect the perfection of his craft. In the hour I spent with him, never did a bowl turn out to be anything other than what he expected, perfect.

  • Clay Wash
    by Bill Morgenstern

    US$4.66–US$106.40

This dry clay wash was found in Badlands National Park in South Dakota, USA. I was absolutely fascinated with the abstract quality of the dry clay in a stream bed at the foot of fossil filled hoodoos. / Featured at “Textures” – January 25, 2009.

  • Taken during a dust storm recently, from Salt Clay Road, looking back over Cootamundra in the Riverina District of NSW. (It is a change to be shooting in dust instead of mist!) Cootamundra is possibly most well known for being the actual birthplace of cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman. It also lends its name to the Cootamundra Wattle – the town is abloom in July and August when these trees are in full flower.
