I love 58 Chevy’s…one of my favorite cars. An old shot that I was able to salvage because of my editing skills improving. Needless to say I am happy I was able to! Now generally as a rule of thumb, I would KO the powerlines, but this time I left them in intentionally. Why? Well I started to KO them then went back, after noticing that without them, the telephone pole is just kinda strange and they add a sense of perspective in this shot. I suppose you can say I have always been a sucker for old cars, especially Hotrods. There is something about the design and style of the years gone by, that todays designers in the automotive world have lost…the subtle curves of the body line, the way the trim fits along the body, and the overall composition and style….rolling sculpture. Elegance and style which is no longer created by the manufacturers but now recreated by those who spend many a late night out in the garage building a Kustom, wielding the torch, throwing the lead, and hammering the seams. Art it one of it’s most purest forms. Creativity personified. This is quite an older shot but remains one of my favorites, the color in this and the reflection caught my eye when I first captured it. I am not a huge fan of tri-year Chevy’s, but this ‘56 was just to good to pass up. I wanted my first image on redbubble to start from the basics; apart from the cut of Cambria’s jib, this is a classic racing portrait. It was taken at the “Vele d’Epoca d’Imperia”, Imperia, Italy, in October 2006.

Continuing with this series of Infrared photographs of the landscape images that make up the Neverland Collection. This was shot in Sydney Park after a wild electical storm had lashed the smooth little hills that make up the framework of this completely artifical and totally man made park on the edge of Newtown in Sydney. The darkening shadows cast long fingers over the walkers dotted on the low sinuous hill in the background. This chiaroscuro rendering of the landscape makes this image more painterly to me that something purely photographic and this is further enhanced by the deep and luscious grain that IR film gives as its trademark effect…... within the darkness there is always a little light to be found….

Another in the Masters series. / This is the centre part of a long panoramic watercolour. By Thomas Bush Hardy, 1895. I’ve moved some of the boats to be closer together, as my version is a small painting, 10×7 inches, on rough Bockingford tinted cream paper, 140lb. I will be painting the full length seascape in the future.

A station that time has mostly forgotten all about stands waiting for a time that may never come. These old buildings and rails remember an era where hundreds of happy faces passed through here on their way home or on their holidays: They dream of a time long since passed. The Summer sky presents its amber glow to the station and casts its pigment all over the scene, highlighting the old charm of the woodwork and enhancing the shaddows. There is a romantic stillness captured within this scene. It is easy for us to imagine a crowd of people gathered waiting on a station that looks imaculate and yet, we can also see that this truly is the End of the Line.
