Hopefully the title says it all. A couple commented on perhaps the reality/unreality of the image. It is a 3D render, using photographed skin for a shader and High Dynamic Range Lighitng a spotlight and Global Illumination. Thus contributing to the ‘realistic’ side of it. Skin normally has light penetrate the surface and bouncing around (Sub Surface Scattering). This was not turned on. Also, I gave it a High Key filter (NIK software). These two helped add to the unreality of an already unreal model.. It is normally possible to add to ‘photo reality’ in photoshop. I did another render with Sub Surface Scattering turned on and tried a few things in photoshop. I didn’t spend that much time in Photoshop, but I would be interested if anyone thinks they look more ‘photographic’ even with a quick couple of filters on top.

  • This is the original Chinese character for love -爱, which was made 4000 years ago….carved on turtle shells or bronze untensils. It is a multi-dimentional drawing, a kind of Picasso, i think. You can figure out if you look carefully. It is how love was made by then….still the same actually :) What have you seen in this …..? / The top, the middle, left bottom conner:))) Very funny, there is an official explaination, it says the character Love was made by ” hands”casting ” fishing net” to catch the fish; since the first usage of this character was to form up a word ” fish love ”. But i can’t see there are hands and fishing net in this pictography but others :))) / Why ” love ” is connected with ” fish”?I think i know..they are so much related :) if you are an adult you know . Im not going to debate with any archeologist; I just believe my eyes, my sense and brain. For science we shall not be that much shy :)) What more I saw from this piece is how artistically advanced my ancestors were !! They were wonderful! / / / / / / / / /

    A DAY AT WORK

  • Another in my series of images shot in beautiful Buenos Aries. This image is fully digital and was shot with my Olympus E 300 while driving by in a taxi at some speed very late on the evening of Christmas Day. I flew from Sydney at around midday on the 25th of Dec and arrived 20 or so hours later at around 4pm on the 25th of Dec. Which I thought was pretty neat. Anyway after checking in I went out and stolled about and got some dinner at a little pavement cafe and watched all the beautiful people strolling by. Then I got a taxi to just drive me around while I shot some random things out of the window. Wonderful experience. Also I don’t want you all to think that I have an aversion to digital capture. I love digital. And I love analouge. Actually I just really really love cameras in all their splendid variety. Little light tight boxes of magic that they are. But for today its full colour digital all the way.

  • " I Remember When "
    by Samantha R

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Stories from way back, I mean years & years ago! Just joking everyone I’m not that old but I do remember my Dad always telling me some neat story about the cool cars he had??

  • route 66 passes through arizona on its way to california…here in the desert, just before the first and only uphill climb on the famous route into the mountains, rests cool springs, a small service station now tourist stop (that once offered overnight stays in several cabins)...50 years ago when radiators tended to overheat and tires would regularly go flat, this last outpost before heading into the mountains was a life saver…today with most people avoiding this stretch and using the nearby interstate and with our more technologically advanced cars, cool springs is an interesting oddity from a bygone era…today it provides cold drinks, stories from the past and souveniers to remind passerbys of its once rich historical existence…it is well worth the effort to find your way to this lonely spot on an even lonelier stretch of old route 66…

  • back in the day, it seemed like everyone had a father, uncle or grandfather that had a car like this…you would be swallowed up by the back seat, taking trips to exotic locations that, while we always muttered “are we there yet,” would one day wish we could go back in time to savor every one of those lost moments…
