Poulnabrone dolmen is a 5,000 year old portal tomb in the limestone Burren area of County Clare, Ireland. The dolmen consists of a massive flat capstone supported on several upright pillars, and would originally have been covered by a mound of earth. Archeological excavations found several traces of human remains at the burial site, which now stands as a stark reminder of an ancient civilisation. Looking back through the mists of time, who knows what ancient religious rites took place at this barren and windswept scene?

The whole history of civilization is strewn with creeds and institutions which were invaluable at first, and deadly afterwards. Walter Bagehot . The Real Zoo
by Brett FosterYou don’t see it do ya, despite ya lofty view / That those what walk beneath ya / Are the keepers of the zoo.
Funny how much we admire the person who invents it, / and how little we admire the person who makes it or keeps it running.

A new digital painting that shows Anubis preparing a pharaoh for the Afterlife. Various symbols from Egyptian mythology and culture are strategically placed within this colourful piece to reveal secret meanings. The work was created as a tribute to the great contribution this powerful and ancient culture has made to the World. ~ Skye “Anubis is the Greek name for a jackal-headed god associated with mummification and the afterlife in Egyptian mythology. In the ancient Egyptian language, Anubis is known as Inpu, (variously spelled Anupu). The oldest known mention of Anubis is in the Old Kingdom pyramid texts, where he is associated with the burial of the king. At this time, Anubis was the most important god of the Dead but he was replaced during the Middle Kingdom by Osiris.” (Info Source: Wikipedia)

This is my most recent historical-fantasy work. The “Prophecy” title pertains to the reference of a shift in global thinking whereby humankind will soon evolve to a new and elevated state of universal awareness. Within our lifetime we will witness the emergence of Compassion over Greed, in how the citizens of the World conduct business and their personal relationships. Intelligence will blossom with the embracing of psychic enlightenment and a significant progress will be made, in our understanding of additional dimensions that exist within our Natural World. Wild animals will be treated with reverence and all beings will live in a harmonious respect for each other. I look forward to this new Age of awakening… do you? A new World Vision we all can share in… which reminds me to tell you that all sales of this item benefit the great organization “World Vision”. Thank you for helping me to help them. ~ Skye

The magazine asked me to create a female sexual fantasy. That night I had a dream f* the sculpture at the war memorial at Hyde Park, Sydney. My favourite position is on top. The finish of the war lead to the liberation of women because during peace time women have more freedom. The sculptor, Rayner Hoff was a feminist. His first sculpture showing the strength of women was stolen. In his second sculpture wounded solder is held up by women with their babies.

The brief – to connect spirit and nature. The aboriginal man represents one of the most ancient civilisations with us today. Carried within their DNA is a long and unbroken line of memory and wisdom refined over thousands of years. He emerges from a boab tree. This tree is famous for its longevity and endurance in the harshest conditions and as a source of nourishment – water, food, medicine, shelter. Both tree and ancient tribesman are precious survivors and carry seeds of nourishment for our present and future.

Dansey Pass is a fairly well-used link between the towns of Naseby and Ranfurly in the south and the Mackenzie Basin of inland Canterbury NZ. Dansey Pass was named after William Dansey, lessee of Otekaieke run in North Otago till 1871. He used the route to enter and explore the Maniototo. There’s gold in them there hills.
