From this vantage point, the city is one mile away. He ruined 5 of my long exposures with his flash. Finally, I politely ask him to please let me get one good shot. / MCN: C30-NP3U-4430

On this particular Sunday we (my family) decided to play tourist in our home town. Late afternoon we decided to explore a few parks in and around North Sydney. The Fox Theater in Atlanta Georgia, There used to be a Fox in just about every major city. / This one was fully restored and in 1989 they celebrated the 60 th anniversary of \”Gone With The Wind\” with a black tie event and commissioned special posters of \”the Fox Theater\” commemorating the event! Ted Turner was there along with 7 of the original cast of the movie and many elite, I was there in black tie signing prints, a great event and a great painting! / The original 36×48 oil painting sold for $10,000.00.

I adore Sydney at night. This was me tripod-less one night at Circular Quay… I’m still tripod-less to this day. Long exposures kill me. Hehehe.

View from my balcony… I connected with this cityscape so much and photographed many times in various shades of light… Now, luckily I didn’t have to get up as early as Mel Brackstone does for her superb landscapes, this was shot early morning, and hopefully conveys some of the attitude that is Singapore…

This was a sign on a building across the road from Graceland, It was hardly noticeable during the day and seemed small and insignificant, But I thought I could do something special with it and it turned out great. / This is a 36×48 oil on canvas. the original sold 10 years ago for about $10,000

Taken on a ship as it left Sydney Harbour; this is just to the right of the Harbour Bridge as you leave. This photo was taken on a rather glum day, but the Sun appeared just as we were leaving, giving pretty much everything an orange tint.

I love shooting at night, and generally am out alone when I’m shooting – it’s when I produce my best work (in my mind anyway). / / This is one of my favorite places in the city. You can sit here alone for hours, traffic streaming past, only the occasional pedestrian, while hundreds, or even thousands of people are just a few feet below. It’s both a quiet spot to find refuge, and a place that symbolizes the loneliness and isolation that can be experienced in a city of millions. © Sara Lamond 2007.
