For sale from the Redbubble store The book arrived wrapped in plastic, and with a close fitting sleeve, so you know it’ll be able to be kept dust-free (an important consideration if you’re a slob like me.) Black satin-finish cover with the title in gloss, beautifully presented, as we’ve grown to expect from the experts at Vanzella Design. Quality is (to my inexperienced eyes) exceptional, the thick pages feel smooth and the prints look wonderful! There are some stories in amongst the images, my favourite would have to be kandelaarsstraat by bellmusker. Bell’s writing always gives me pause. Only a couple of paintings are included, but are both exceptional! Snowy Day by J Anderson (which appears to have been cropped slightly, unfortunately,) and The Future by Rebecca Roberts. The rest of the images are photographs, with varying degrees of manipulation. My favourites are below, in no particular order. My address is Brisbane, but I rarely visit the central business district of my city, so it’s a treat to see these fabulous sights from all around the world. This is an outstanding addition to the Redbubble community bookstand, and I’d have to say it is very much recommended buying. psirri, athens by kostas kallivretakis Spirit of Sydney by Juilee Pryor robot rights by sjem Tokyo – Ginza Crossing by sparrowhawk City shadow by Silvia Ganora The Pool by Hans Kawitzki You can buy your copy here

The UN estimated that as of late 2008, over half the world’s population would be urbanised, that is living in a city or it’s surrounding areas. Source I had been anticipating the arrival of RB’s latest publication for some time and was delighted to see it had arrived in one piece and only slightly damaged by an excitable two year old who had attempted to open the envelope using a technique which could best be described as ‘curious stomping’. The graphics and layout are unassuming, slick and simple, they leave the images and words within to do the talking. This image is my personal favourite Father and Daughter by Luigi Scuderi : Of course, seeing Robot Rights in print is a major highlight too : This fabulous publication will be right at home amongst my many others : The City will be available here soon.

I was going to tell you about how amazed I was at the sublime packaging of the new Redbubble Collaboration The City Or how a lot of thought has gone into marrying images together, to create a beautiful symbiosis of Content Colour & Story \ Perhaps I could have told you about how expertly well images and words were chosen to make this an exceptional collection of creativity to fill your senses. / But instead I am going to tell you how you should use this wonderful book. Ruben enjoys it whilst completing his morning rituals… Oshi thinks is fabulous as a house for his wildlife… and well, I just like it anyway I can! So Dagnabbit, what are you waiting for? Please make your way over here and purchase yourself a copy, so that completing your daily tasks, sheltering of your herds or fulfilling your relaxation time is taken care of! A note…. I was really unhappy to see the book wrapped in plastic when it came. I am uncertain as to why it was necessary and the use of plastic in the world is too excessive as it is. That is all

The City. A Red Bubble publication. Huge congrats must go to Paul and Hop for their effort in putting this book together. The City… a living, breathing metropolis where the same skyline can mean different things to so many different people. / Just by skimming through the pages you get a sense of the depth that has been explored and the movement that one associates with the hustle and bustle of a city. / By taking your time and allowing yourself to be absorbed by each image and written word, this book will encases you in a City’s heartbeat and sounds. / / What a superbly presented publication! / Black… I love black. / The outer sleeve and soft cover are a gorgeous matt black, with lettering embossed in a sexy “touch me” feel on the cover. / / Images in this publication that (to me) reveal the essence of a city… / / / / Some written works in this publication that ooze with a city’s electric hum… / / Kandelaarsstraat by Bellmusker / Detroit by Louise Kuskovski / Sidewalk Verse by Taylor Butling / / Red Bubble have put together a couple of publications and they are a most worthy addition to everyone’s bookshelf. / The City is no exception, well done to all involved!

When I was asked to review the new RB book The City , I waited in anticipation for my copy as I know that, from previously purchasing RB books, they are always of the highest quality. Once my copy arrived, I was not only impressed with it’s sleek, satin black book pocket and cover but also with the amazing work from various mediums which this book holds. After devouring this book over and over, I have chosen a few favourites, which believe me was no easy job! Last Light of the Day by Jose M.F. Rebelo / A beautifully composed image of an old street in Portugal, perfectly suited to b&w as it allows the viewer to focus on the light and atmosphere within the City of Porto. / Black Web by Luka Skarcic / What appeals to me about this great image is the contrast with the above photo which focuses on the old City; to this wonderfully modern and dynamic representation of a City with a great abstract quality. / Tokyo – Ginza Crossing but Sparrowhawk / This image is so full of energy, coupled with the colour and processing, it’s truly electric,, I just love the vibe. / Father and Daughter by Luigi Scuderi / A wonderfully warm capture of family within a City, alongside memorable composition which absorbs the viewer in the moment and creates a lasting impression. / Antisocial by Evan Shraboneau / Cities can also often be portrayed as places of loneliness and isolation and this powerful yet simple b&w photo is a perfect representation of such assumption. / This great book not only holds photographs, but also paintings and written works that are all of outstanding quality so if you are thinking of purchasing The City, just do it!! It is a great addition to any to any book collection! Basia

I eagerly picked up my copy of The City from the post office today (mind you that’s a 20 minute drive from the farm!! LOL)... It’s a gorgeous sleek black publication that just oozes sophistication and style. It comes in its own black box…while the pages are thick and luxurious making it a pleasure to flick through. I absolutely LOVE the image on the inside cover of the book… There is a fabulous selection of images scattered throughout, here are some of my favourites… Along with emotive pieces of writing… Steeples by Justin Compton / Three things flew out a window by Michael Douglass Well done to all the hamsters at Redbubble for putting together yet another gorgeous publication!
