  • SUNSET IN THE CITY
    by linaji

    US$6.27–US$167.20

PLEASE VIEW LARGE..XOX I made this piece in lieu of this video, What goes around…comes Around. I love Justin Timberlake.. I think he is totally hot and a very good singer. I grew up ghetto. That is to say I was not a rocker till late in life, in my 20’s. I grew up on soul music and the music my brother brought home which I am so happy to say was a wondrous mix of soul, rock and jazz. I remember this way of life, city life. Oh what drama! There was much pain and so much living on the edge. I was thinking tonight that I do not miss these feelings at all. I do not miss the sensual gratification from needing so much outside me to make me, me! / A man, clothes, car, right job or a smile to die for where always on a list of concerns that if I had most or all of these elements that indeed I would finally be happy. I never thought I would say this out loud but I like growing old, because for me old is so New! A totally new way of living! I like this affair I am having with me… And now of course Mr. Mac and me. This is not to say that a mate or a new wardrobe, or a new car, well I do have a car I love and a job that I call art now, but would love to see some real living type dollars come in; or to feel and be around all the smiles I dare to die for, is still not on the ‘I Desire’ list, cause they are. It is that in the meantime, I remain as productive and as ‘happy’ as if all these desires where indeed already done! Do I miss my youth? Well I wonder if I still had all the shaken stuff in perfect order, would I allow myself the feelings I have now. Is there a bit that has let go of the need to be ‘hot’ top priority and in exchange allowed this sense of well being to exist with out all the ‘I Gotta Haves’. Growing ‘old’ for me does not mean I resign or break down or even retire. I think the word ‘Old’ could be exchanged for ‘UP ‘. This is the most exciting time I have ever experienced! I have never felt so close to the Essence of who I really am…Eternal and Free. This beautiful temple, which I still love and want to take care of, is amazing, but I am not the girl in this video anymore. Maybe you could say the only regret I have of growing older as I embrace the belief of my unlimited nature and well being in my body, is that in my youth there was no such dance call ‘hip hop dancing’. Oh dang, how I love to think of my life as a dancer! I am also beginning to understand that there is no death, so life is never finished and it is never done. My desire for dancing like a kid in their teens is on my eternal list.. so I guess there is time…. tee hee..XOX!

  • Photograph taken on top of the Dome, Dawson City, Yukon Territory, Canada. / Summer solstice 2006, MIDNIGHT (June 22nd). / The sun that goes through the Inukshuk adds to the F-stop effect. Photography is a great way to capture what we want to remember. / Great souvenir for those of you who have traveled north to the Yukon and that have witnessed Solstice there as well. / A picture is worth a thousand words. / This one a thousand beautiful souvenirs.

  • Taken looking south to Wollongong from Providential Point, Royal National Park, just south of Sydney Australia. / This is my first attempt at a multi-exposure blend. This image is a combinations of 57 X 30sec exposures using the fantastic Startrails Photoshop Action that you can download free from this excellent site: / www.schursastrophotography.com/software/photoshop/startra… I was put on to this action by Dave Burrow whose amazing startrails image can be seen here: / http://www.redbubble.com/people/davidburrows/art/321722-3-startrails The brilliant thing about this PS action is that the longest exposure you need to take is 30sec and so it virtually eliminates the noise problem of conventional long exposure startrails. You can imagine how much noise this shot would have as a 30min exposure. / The straight lines are some of 9 planes that flew through these exposures over the half-hour I was taking them – amazingly consistent flight paths. It got so busy I had to delete some of the planetrails, hence the little gaps in the startrails.

  • BEST VIEWED LARGER Caught this at the Sydney Group Meet – Eerie Is’nt it ? The doors of the St Michael the Archangel Chapel (commenced in 1886) . Rookwood Necropolis, at 283 hectares (700 acres), is one of the largest burial grounds in the world and one of Australia’s oldest cemeteries. It has been in continual use since it was established in 1868 and over 800,000 people have been interred within the grounds. The headstones and monuments reflect the history of the colony Of New South Wales and the development of the city of Sydney. The heritage values of the cemetery are protected by an act of Parliament. / / The original 81 hectare (200 acre) heritage area, located in the north western corner of the Necropolis, is subject to a Permanent Conservation Order and represents the largest and one of the finest surviving examples of a Victorian public cemetery anywhere in the world. Rookwood was originally designed in the grand gardenesque style, fashionable in the mid to late 19th Century. The brick gutters which defined the ornate landscaping can still be seen, together with the highly decorative monuments and other features including the chapel of St Michael the Archangel and the Serpentine Canal with its elegant ponds, bridges and urns. These were set in formal gardens with rest houses to cater for mourners and visitors This shot was the result of a Sydney group meetup on Saturday 14th June, the site definitely has a feel to it. Ive never seen so many black crows . The site definitely has an atmosphere with graves dating back to the early days of the colony.. In its day there was a rail service with a special funeral train that left from a purpose built station at Sydney’s Central Railway station. Unfortunately the special platforms at Rookwood being demolished, but the “Mortuary Station” still exists at Central Station. you can get an idea what these stations looked like at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regents_Street_railway_station,_Sydney
