Creative / I created this image to remind us of the consequences of our actions if we continue to take our precious environment for granted. The location chosen is Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, a city free from catastrophic disaster. That is until Mother Nature turns back on us. We can keep running from what we have done but this is infinite future chaos! Thanks to Rikki & Jess for being models. You can see the before and after shots here Technical / The background was shot in 3 sections and stitched together in Photoshop CS3. Various parts from extra shots were used i.e. The Seven sign and text from another shot I took. I also cloned out people and objects as well as added elements to create this scene. The background, clouds, Rikki and Jess were shot separately on an old but trusty Canon 10D in RAW mode. Other images were sourced online and manipulated beyond original recognition. Once I had all the elements I needed I composited it all together in Photoshop CS3. I had to create some elements such as texture, debris, snapped cables and smoke from scratch using the good old airbrush and pen tools with various brushes all made easier with a A4 Wacom tablet but found that the mouse was sometimes better for other tasks. A lot of masking, deep etching, cloning, dodging and burning went into making this image what it is. Once complete I colour graded it to give it a real sense of drama and darkness.
I missed a fantastic sunset, and an incredibly intense lightning storm. By the time I got to my chosen vantage point, I was left with the remnants of both. © Sara Lamond 2007. Its a storm which happens a several monthes ago in sevastopol (ukraine). This storm a ruined many litle cafes, and half of the embankment. It`s one of many waves, I`m choose it photo because the whimsical geometry of the wave was pleased to me.Well is certain, the essence of work the contrast of small defenseless people to the force of the element

Taken in front of a fence around a construction site, lots of storms lately.
The lightning was elusive, even though I was there for a long time, Brisbane from Kangaroo Point
“A work from my Metropolis series. I like the idea of an interaction with street art.. sadly the street artists don’t seem that interested. I’ve always loved graffiti, the way a random event or obscenity is given a wider audience and I decided as a response to street art invading art galleries I would steal elements of street art and incorporate some gratuitous art graffiti.” More to come. Available as a signed limited edition print direct from the artist.

After I demonstrated a few wave painting techniques, I later thought to join them up into a painting! A Spontaneous watercolour! Watercolour 14” x 10” on Bockingford rough 140lb. So far, nobody has spotted the little men in white shirts, clinging for life, to the torn-off mast (left side of painting).

This was shot on a canon 300D, on a tripod with a 30 second exposure. / I shot it during a summer storm in Sydney from my grandmother’s apartment building. The weather that night was magnificent, so much thunder and lightning and rain. Luckily i was just far enough away from the storm that there was only a light drizzle. / The show mother nature put on was spectacular and i stood out there for almost 4 hours with my shutter open the whole time. / I ended up taking about 700 shots, with about 80 of them capturing the lightning. You’d be surprised at how many time lightning strikes in between shots. A lot! / The shots from that night are a wonderful reminder of how powerful mother nature can be, especially against the man-made cityscape. I was inspired by the poem of Happy Feet 5, written here she keeps it real, and lets the words that we think about YOU , flow into her pen.. thankyou , Iris A storm is a brewing and it’s calling my name / a storm is a brewing and it’s all in my brain. The thoughts are a swirling like twisters in my head / could this be the storm that I’ve become to dread? I feel like the Mad Hatter who has gone insane / and my thoughts are like the White Rabbit’s / who says “Rush, Rush, Rush / I’m late, late, late / Madness in my thoughts is again beginning to reign My hand takes the pen, / the pen with words starts to flow / the twisters that spin my thoughts are caught on paper / and kinder, friendlier winds start to blow. Now that what is left is a refreshing, gentle breeze / I realized that like Alice who on the ground knelt on her knees / I had fallen into a hole / I have fallen into RedBubble where writers itch / to take their magic pens and bare their very souls. Oh, Red Bubble, this time I put the blame on you for my anxiety / cause you have released the other side of the writer in me, / the one that speaks my truth, my fears, my rage, my realities. Do I dare with my truth out in the open now put the virgil down / and lay me down to rest? / Nay! I dare not, for the windvane never puts the ever-shifting winds / to a test.
