Old and new(ish) architecture in the Melbourne CBD – The old GPO and the Commonwealth Bank Headquarters.
Melbourne’s Docklands feature many incredible architectural marvels, including this wonder, the Webb Bridge
San Francisco, CA night skyline. This was taken from Treasure Island, which is the half way point between the Bay Bridge and San Francisco.
Panorama shot of Perth City, Swan River and Narrows Bridge from Kings Park.
Eureka Tower, the latest addition to Melbourne’s beautiful skyline. Captured in that awesome period between day and night where you the sky looks at its best and you can still get the lights and reflections looking great too! This is a shot of Eureka Tower with the carousel in the foreground. Had a hard time fitting all objects in with my crappy 18-55mm lens but got there in the end!
Found this in Shibuya, Tokyo. Some electrical box that had been covered with posters and stickers, then cleared of posters and stickers, then covered with fliers and finally cleared of fliers. I got lucky.
Detail of a concrete pole near my apartment in Wakayama City, Japan.
Made while listening to Daft Punk. The underside of an overpass in Tokyo.
England is a green soggy country… and the north west is England at its soggiest. To understand the English you must understand our relationship to the weather.. this is the real reason America happened because Brits were trying to find a less wet climate. The Spanish could always return to sunny Spain and the French could always go back to Paris.. but the English knew if they didn’t fight hard for the New World they would be back to weather proofs and damp. Its not co-incidence George Washington was from the north of England.. and his name is wet ! The biggest crime in England is bad plumbing. You can murder you next door neighbour and most people will just “tut tut” and forget it, but if your guttering drips onto your neighbours property prepare for war. Living in England is a bit like living under a slightly damp and musty blanket.. you know its not very good for you but its still vaguely reassuring. The damp gets in your bones. So it only seems right to make soggy landscapes where the sun has been washed out of the sky and the predominant colours are “mossy” greens and the city looks like a sponge. This is what makes England different we may get clear blue Californian skies occassionally but most of the time the sun god plays second fiddle.. to the great God Sog ! We also get wind but that’s probably to do with our diet. A simple solution to our economic problems would be to sell our abundance of water to Arabs in return for oil ! But then again in summer when we get three sunny days.. the whole country runs dry. In Britain a mac is not a make of computer. (I would recommend you view this large to see it at its best.
