Had to travel to Adelaide for work, was trapped inside all day, though managed to escape for about 30 minutes but being in the city this is as close to seeing the sunset as I got.
World Trade Center a few months before 9/11, New York, USA
one of the few times I was actually glad somebody got in the way of my shot! totally adds to the hustle n’ bustle feel of NYC :)
This shot was taken a few years back during our trip to China. Hong Kong is a great city. I’m not much of a city fan, but there is something magic about Hong Kong and I tried to bring home a little of that magic. Also available as wallpaper
This image was taken on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the Amex Building in New York. People were drawn to the view of the rebuilding of Ground Zero and were speaking so softly. Concurrent to the silent viewing is the incredible acitivity of rebuilding taking place in the area itself. Originally the glass wall seen here was opaque (marble, i think) but when the repairs were made to the building the marble was removed so that people could view Ground Zero. Shot taken with my little digital camera that i have since lost!
The Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This shot was taken on a recent work trip, I was fortunate enough to get a little time off to explore KL.
Being an environmentally friendly artist.. I decided I wanted to make the city a little “greener”. My advice is get it printed big.. because 1) it looks rather excellent printed big.. and 2) I make more money. Imagine this on your wall in your living room.. and the neighbours saying “he’s not very good he can’t even draw straight lines !” This work is also available as a SIGNED LIMITED EDITION PRINT please contact me for further details Available as a signed limited edition print direct from artist. / This work is also included in my Digital Landscapes Calender. For those with a limited budget this is a great way to buy a lot images at lower cost.

So I know there’s gotta be other people out there excited about the release of the new Batman Movie The Dark Knight, or is it just me? This is a tribute to possibly one of my favourite movies! This is also one of my first really serious attempts at creating some digital artwork in Photoshop. This is the result of me having a lot of time, sitting at home sick when I should be at work. The question is can you see Batman?? For this I started off with one of my pics of Melbourne, Australia from Southbank which was a HDR from 3 exposures. I then added in bats, flood lights, batman, the moon etc. and then once again a lot of tinkering in Lightroom to finetune :) This image has had over 5000 views Sales 1 Mounted Print 1 Poster Click here for my other images of Melbourne
I was out with one of my students the other night. We were on our way to the top of the NS Building and found this view from the 13th Floor. The borders top and bottom are actually the window-surrounds. I shot this at about f/7.1 for 2seconds, lens-hood removed, lens flat against the window with my weight pushing against it to brace it still. No tripod? Just improvise! Nikon D300 / Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8
I was back up at the Bunkyou Civic Centre yesterday, this time with one of my students. The sunset was extraordinary. It was impossible to control the lens-flare as I was shooting straight into the sun for this shot. Five-shot bracketed HDR with very little done to the colour. This is pretty much, apart from a bit of a shift in the tonal contrast, what the scene looked like through the lens. Nikon D300 / Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED / 5-frame bracketed burst merged in Photomatix 2.5.4

A work from my Metropolis series of digital montages. One of my interests is exploring the nature of realism. I like to create images that might at first glance be photographs.. but then on closer inspection are clearly not. This work is also available as a SIGNED LIMITED EDITION PRINT please contact me for further details. For anyone interested in buying this work is also available as part of my Digital Landscapes Calender. For those with a limited budget this is a great way to buy a lot images at lower cost.

Pulled out of the archives from a while ago… A 3 exposure HDR in Photomatix software. This photo was taken with my old Canon 300D, I had a fair bit of trouble deciding what white balance to go with but I think it worked out ok. This image was taken on the same night as the following images: Click here for my other images of Melbourne
