Here’s my famous red vinyl chair and red phone! These have been used in quite a few photo shoots now – although, this is the first photo where the two items get in the limelight. This laneway is located near Hosier Lane in Melbourne, adorned with graffiti and stencil art. Getting the phone to the laneway from the carpark at Fed Square was easy. Getting the chair, wasn’t!

P/S Retouched by Ange. Digital photograph shot by Jerry Kang in Surry Hills, Sydney (2007). Model: J.Y. I retouched the eyes (creating deepset cat eyed effect), enhanced lips, defined eyebrows, enhanced cheekbones, airbrushed face & lengthened body. Extended foreground of shot by retouching (the existing foreground) as it was taken tightly cropped to the foot. Added b/w desaturated tone & curve adjustment. Original before shot image below.

This pretty lady was sitting at the traffic lights so I went over and asked her: ”すみませんしゃしんをとてもいですか?”Or, “Do you mind if I take your photo?” “Not at all”, she said…. Nikon D300 with my 1979 vintage 50mm f/1.2 AI lens; the King of Bokeh!

I love looking up at the ever-changing billboards in NYC. You can see a tree added to my composition here—but the Calvin Klein ad really took my breath away. This was taken back in 2004…and now I’m glad I made the moment last. :) Hey…this might make a cool Valentine’s card…or a LOVE ME – LOVE YOU kind of print for someone special. I might have to buy one myself. :)

Another great shot I found in Time Square. All the windows in New York were amazing, this was so subtle compared to the others, but I loved how simple and eye catching it was at the same time.
